JJ liked my post starting the Ricardo Pereira thread and then posted this:

He's a young rapid RB/RWB who played for Nice (who did fantastic to finish 3rd) last season on loan from Porto. He has a release clause and apparently Porto are in FFP trouble. Looks like he may be the one we want to replace Walker when/if he goes.
That 'like" is as good itk as you get and look at the one on this post :)

Really liking how encouraging the ITK is. Pereira, Lemar (who fit with Steve Hitchen's France M.O.), Sessegnon and Veltman all 'confirmed' so far as targets?

3 or 4, couple of youngsters and a household name - who am I missing?

Would all be brilliant signings, but we've been here before.

Veltman would be a good acquisition in that Dier needs cover.

Walker would need to be replaced so good to see the latest link.

Can't see where Lemar fits in though unless we plan to sell one of the am s and if it's big money would rather see that go on a decent striker.

Sessegnon would surely be a loan back, don't think Davies deserves to make way, he did well last season.

We play two or three behind a striker.

Dele, Eriksen, Lamela, Son and another (Lemar) would provide great options for 4 competitions. Form and injuries need to be covered. Our only weakness last season was perhaps strength in depth.

Sessegnon would also be used in cups and maybe further forward.

Just doesn't leave much room for GKN or Sissoko but they haven't really shown Poch they're good enough.

If we sign Lemar, we'll probably play four at the back more often than not, unless Poch wants to play Eriksen deeper.

if we was to get Ricardo Pereira, would we still go in for Veltman?

Yes. One is a Walker replacement. Veltman in our system would be a ball-playing centre back in the Dier Toby Jan mould.

No idea whether we'd get both, but if we did I'd expect CCV to be heading out. With Toby, Dier and Veltman I can't see CCV wanting to be that far down the pecking order.

Pereira for me every day. Pace plus versatility. I kind of think it's easier to cover the CH positions. Onions of course.

Don't see anyone we have being adequate cover for Vertonghen if Wimmer goes. Dier and Veltman are both right sided. Cue people saying 'it doesn't matter', but, in my opinion it does.
In the back three it matters a lot. Carrying the ball out and filling in at left back you need that foot.

Quite clearly Davies would play there in a back three.

Very much reminds me of walker, plays very similar to him, need tomsee more ofmhis defensive elements in a real game but can see why we are looking at him for sure
