new RB close maybe
The signing who is very close is probably the guy JJ was happy about. Whilst it will be great to have a new RB, they won't be as good as Walker so I don't see why they'd generate the happiness and the subsequent silence to avoid something getting out.

Probably Barkley then IMO.

Also, the PL attacking player back-up is Josh King. 97.62% sure of that.

Out of nowhere he called nelsen and Saha, been top drawer ever since

Ah cheers, makes sense those were pretty left field. After seeing how we all shit ourselves whenever he breathes I guessed it must've come from something like that

This. I'm sure the post was something like

"Sorry guys, but we're getting Ryan Nelsen and Saha"

And this was in the middle of deadline day when we were still being linked with all and sundry. No one else had even mentioned RN and LS at that point.

I remember that.

Harry was on TV a few minutes later and he wasn't giving away Nelsen's name, he just mentioned signing an 'experienced old head'. The media were absolutely clueless on who it was.

JJ also tweeted the Sissoko deal before anyone else.

He's the absolute bollocks.

This got a dislike from Gards so Imma guess no.

That will prob be a wait and see. Curious if the very close is a prospect future player or a ready for primetime player.

Yep, thats one theory out of the way.

Still positive news, would be novel to finally make a signing!

Very interesting on the attacking front, hope we're close to pulling off a real coup. So much promise there, the only one that worries me is Cuadrado, he was clueless in his stint at Chelsea.

Cuadrado only signed permanently for Juve this year. Plus, he's getting on a bit...

Would make sense for the club to announce all the signings tomorrow ahead of the Juve game some may actually attend the friendly then

Assuming Barkley is not this attacking player (or back up)...I guess the position is RW forward & PL back option is Josh King (given he is the only one we are linked by ITKs in forward position)

Attacking player is from Italian league, but Gards also said player plays in good side in Europe. If so, I would rule out players from teams like Sassuolo, Genoa, Sampdoria, Turin. IMO rules out likes of Simeone, Berardi. If Milan is also ruled out based on earlier comment, that leaves players from one of these clubs - Florentina, Juve, Inter, Roma, Napoli. May be Lazio but thats a stretch. Given we would look for young & upcoming players with good sell on , could narrow it down to 4 or 5 players.

I hope its one of Chiesa, Balde or Gabigol.

If they start selling tickets for a tenner I'll go.

If it's to see new signings I'll wait for the Chelsea game thanks.

I can remember the excitement on here when those two names were mentioned. :ROFLMAO:

Why do people keep mentioning Balde? That would not be under a radar and Napoli and Juventus look to be most likely destinations! He has also apparently said he doesnt want to leave serie a

One reason is because he's in the last year of his contract. He wouldn't be as expensive as others.

Not been on here for a while!
All I will say is, 1 very close, 1 under radar being worked on and will improve the side attacking wise. Have a back up option from the prem of the attacking option doesn't come off, the attacking player plays for a good side in Europe. Simeone not hear anything on him, random link, jordon sancho wants the gooners, we shall see though!

1 very close, got to be a defender surely, probably Walker's replacement. Potentially we won't see the young CB until Wimmer is resolved.
1 under the radar, attacking player, won't be Barkley as he's not exactly under the radar. From the follow up, it appears the Italian player JJ has alluded to. But Gards rules out it being Simeone. My money is still on Berardi at Sassuolo, northern Italy, played in Europe last year, plus we are known to have had scouts at his summers U21 tournament that he played in.
I think Barkley will be later in the window.
Interesting to read we are hanging in there for sancho.

Didn't Breezer say that we were looking at an experienced south american? I'm not suggesting it's Cuadrado because that wouldn't make sense, but we could be looking at some older players than we'd usually sign.
