Re the Goats ITK, would be a shame to see Wanyama go to West Brom, I know he’s had serious injury problems but he is too good to be in the championship.

Oh and FWIW was at a Q&A thing with Graham Roberts and Keith Burkinshaw last night and roberts seemed very confident re Lo Celso and Sessegnon

Good news on sess and I’m sure he’ll be a hit once Poch gets his hands on him. Be interesting to see if he’s bought as our left-back, left-mid or a left-wide forward as Bale ended up.

Wanyama to WBA is interesting...not sure he’s championship level yet? He could still do a job in the PL.

Nice of you to take the goat out for a walk, Archie. About time you let him out of his pen:shifty:

Good news. Wanyama seems to have a few takers. Levy’s specialty, that.

Obviously happy with Sessegnon but in the context of this season only it's not a massive deal and not sure it's a net improvement on what we have.

He has of course the potential to be far better than Rose but as it stands now he's probably a worse player. I think I see it as more next season's business done early like Jack Clarke, which is certainly no bad thing.

It's the midfield we need to focus on if we are serious about trophies this season.

One thing I think that is worth noting around our past few windows. Yes, we haven’t added as much quality as we like (last window signing nobody was obviously a massive disappointment I believe for everybody). However, a large part of the reason that we haven’t been overly active in the transfer market is because we haven’t been able to get rid of players that are either (a) past their due despite being good players for us at some points or (b) dud signings.

This year we have had leave the squad:
Janssen
Trippier
Llorente

With Ndombele joining (and Jack Clarke next year) and potentially Wanyama leaving. I do not believe Rose will leave unless some serious unexpected offer comes in. You also have some others like GKN that we would be more than happy to offload.

That’s a significant saving on the wage budget, a significantly reduced squad in terms of size, and gives us a lot more flexibility to be active in the last week in terms of “grabbing opportunities” that come up. So I wouldn’t be shocked if we see something unexpected in the final week, although hopefully we obtain our first choice targets. I also think that, although it’s a bad thing that we haven’t made any signings, it’s a great thing that we haven’t made any dud signings that we will struggle to offload in the future. It also means that if we don’t make the signings we want to fill out the squad, we will give youngsters an opportunity, which can bring the same if not more energy to the squad as a new signing if they have the right quality.

Sad to say but true. One of the best midfielders in the league a few years back. Poor guy. Things starting to take shape...assuming they all go through!
Not actually sure that’s true. One of a pretty decent recent line of DFM’s that have done a great job. Onwards and upwards - let’s hope upwards. (y)

I will also qualify that by saying I like Victor, but he does have his limitations.

Much rather seem Victor at West Brom than West Ham as some earlier rumours suggested. Hopefully he can salvage his career there, or wherever he goes. Though its a shame he will likely never realise the player he could have been/once was. As for Sess, I would like this to be done and dusted with at least a couple of days remaining so there is time for one or two more important (at least probably in terms of the forthcoming season) deals to go through.

Could be hoping to do the job in the prem for West Brom next season, as likely as anyone I guess.

ITK...at last!!!! Thanks Goat

Sess is good news as his versatility will mean he gets game time and develop under Poch. Wanyama has served us well when fit but like Dembele he needs to move on to continue to play. Any Championship team will be getting a player who will I am sure help to add not just quality but dressing room leadership by example.
