He won't sign as we can't sign him.... We can't approach until end of season, unless it was a cash offer to buy him now - and the Gooners will NEVER accept an offer from us.

Why won't they? Would they rather lose him for a free? They can just spin it that it was a "too good to decline offer" and not disclose the fee.

That's interesting. While I imagine Gallas is on a bit more than Dawson, the former has something to offer to our current setup; whereas the latter, a loyal servant to the club, is basically just filling quota space with the way we play.

I would prefer that we do the right thing by Dawson and let him go somewhere to play. He's been good to us. I don' t want to fuck about with the lad.

Thanks J

I think AVB has been won round by Dawson and realised that he still has a role at the club. In the EPL he's a very useful defender to have. I think we'll keep Gallas aswell until the summer. With Kaboul injured until February we can't sell any CB and risk Kaboul suffering an injury setback. We'd be well and truly stuffed!

When is it, exactly, that you can approach a player before their contract expires without the consent of the club? I'm sure it's within 6 months.

Eh? I reckon Dawson has just about put himself ahead of Caulker in the pecking with the way he's been playing recently, especially for the games against sides that play it direct with a big numer 9 up front. Fair play to the lad, cos a few (myself and probably AVB included) had written him off earlier this season. He might struggle for a starting place when Kaboom is back but definitely has a place in the squad I reckon.

Just that apparently the guy who's DM'd it is an Arsenal MWS, I'd love to find out who it is that's "heard" what.

Think you lot need to cut them some slack, they're adults with good jobs, good lives they don't need to cushion their egos making up shit.

Hmmm. I can't see it happening, but I can see why we'd be interested (note to Levy and AVB: If you sign him, it still doesn't count as a new striker, dammit).

I'm actually always inclined to take our normal ITK people at face value. Sure, they sometimes get over-excited, but so would I if I had Spurs sources.

I believe it's six months outside of the league a player is in, but you can't sign a player in the same league until the summer.

But I hope somebody has a more solid grasp on the rules and can confirm or correct.

Forget Holtby for a minute.

If Ade leaves for ACON which is looking likely then we are going to be in the shit during January.

Secret meetings with Tottenham in Qatar?

Englishman offer Holtby Euro 4.3 million salary

Last night, the Schalke landed in Doha. Whether Lewis Holtby (22/geht end of the season) really can concentrate on the training camp in Qatar?

IMAGE learned: His adviser Marcus Noack flies to the Gulf.

And: A delegation from London should have also made their way to the desert state ...

Secret meetings with Tottenham in Qatar? Englishman offer Holtby Euro 4.3 million salary!

Claiming to be the "Spurs" make the transfer fee summer exchange of international's soon clear.

The package of the Premier League clubs should look like: an annual salary of 3.5 million pounds (about 4.3 million euros), plus a signing bonus of 500,000 pounds (about 615,000 euros).

Holtby now says "Yes" to Spurs?

At Schalke he said "No"! A contract extension burst in December after six months' poker. Noack and Holtby called until 6, then still 5 million euros a year.

Schalke offered him at the end of Euro 3 million - doubling his previous income. But Holtby side refused and can collect at Tottenham apparently much more.

Manager Horst Heldt (43): "We're no longer talk to when he wants to sign jrgendwo. Lewis has just taken a different approach. This is The soccer - players come and go ... "

Only one winter alternating with Heldt Holtbys Tottenham would have to negotiate a release. But that would cost earnest money is not the plan ...

I've just brought my little baby girl home from hospital who was born on New Years Day, and I'm currently sitting on the floor next to her crib just listening to her while her mummy sleeps to reassure mummy that our girl is ok. What neither of them know is that I'm about to read through the 40+ pages of this thread to keep me awake! Good work guys, 3 days in and already 1 signing and plenty of ITk chat to keep me awake for ages! See you on the other side!

Sorry mate,
Didn't even know I'd done it until I just read this.... Yes no posts, long time lurker! I do it all off the iPhone...any way to remove it? Cheers
Oh - thanks for the dislike rating Mark831. I look forward to you EVER posting anything at all.
How can you dislike the idea of Arsenal being screwed over?
I was there clapping rSol as he hobbled round the pitch on his crutches grinning like a hero as he applauded the fans - then signed for the Goons the following day. I'd welcome the bastard love child of Henry, Wright and Adams with open arms if it pissed them off!

Forget something there's actually been ITK on to talk about something that may or may not happen? Something that there's been no ITK on?

You're new so i'll use vaseline on the offical site dildo this one time.

But carry on posting.

actually regarding kaboul; there is serious concern that if he breaks down again in his recovery he could be out for the season.

and if you want an opinion (and it is just an opinion) i wouldnt be suprised to see another centre half by the end of the summer with both Dawson and Gallas gone.

At worst case, we switch to a 4-5-1 and have Defoe and Deuce as forwards for a month. We can survive. Better to do that or loan a player than spend crazy money on a forward for a month's coverage.

If we can land a forward that has long-term implications then by all means we should, but that's never been easy for us. But we have enough options that we should be approaching this from a position of strength rather than weakness.

Been worrying about that myself. Always a worry when return dates get pushed further and further back (which seems to happen to most of our long term injured players!). Beginning to sound like Ledley MkII but hope not!
