32 year old Modric is the kind of player Juventus would spaff a load of money on and we'd wonder why they spent so much on an old player and then they'd win their league by miles for three years and continue to go deep into the CL and quite possibly even win it..

Doesn't fit our MO at all, but if there's one ageing midfielder in world football that's worth it, it's Modric.

Modric can play at the highest level until he's 36/37. If there's any chance of getting him back at a reasonable price then we must. He's exactly what our midfield needs. In fact we've never replaced him.

Agree. The way he uses the ball is Pirlo esque. He was comfortably Reals best player in both games against us this season, a joy to watch.

sorry still catching up from 1st jan news from herc, so apologies if already been spoke about, surely barkley will be a replacement for dier? if dier isn't 100% focused? maybe that's why poch wants him so bad.

Modric is the type of player who can remain at a high level for probably 4-5 more years. He has never been dependant on speed or athleticism in his style, and wont regress as much as Bale for example.

Just like Bayern got a couple of years out of Xabi Alonso when he left Real.

I don't think it will happen for one second, but Modric would be a sensational buy. Absolute class and amongst the players we have now, as opposed to then, he'd be sublime IMO.

Whenever this forum opens -- it truly consumes more time than either of my two jobs -- which already consume 18 of the 24 hours I live in a daily basis.

I want to say thanks again to A&C and gang for really doing a great job and always trying to tighten the buttons of this space.

Regarding Herc's ITK -- on par with what I expect and I couldn't be happier. Stay the course and lets be patient. I'll linger in the shadows from here on out. As always -- love all the characters in here.

Lastly -- cabbages.

Fuck it. May as well bring Rafa back too, then we'd have the full set.

Rafa is having serious trouble getting into the reserve team of a danish outfit, and his hamstrings seem shorter than ever... Would probably take well to Pochs fitness regime :D

Modric would be seriously excellent, even if we pay more than we recieved for him back in 2012. Especially with Dembeles old injuries flaring up again.

Why do we do this to ourselves. We know we won't sign either of them.... but I will still be tuned into that bellend Jim White on deadline day incase we get an announcement with 1 minute to go.

Like that time they brought in Pirlo and many people said he was passed his best.
