I'm afraid that might be difficult now our dumping ground of choice, Hull, have been relegated.

Also, don't forget we've already sold Bentaleb since January, we should have ~£16m coming in for that transfer. Oh and Fazio for £2.7m.

My perspective is those sales for Bentaleb, Fazio, and N'Jie are to balance last years book, and not add funds for this season.

Wanyama 11, Janssen 17, N'Koudou 10, Sissoko 30 = 68
Pritchard 8, Yedlin 5, Chadli 13, Mason 13, Ward 1, Ball 0.5, Yahaya 0.5, Carroll 4.5, Bentaleb 16, N'Jie 6, Fazio 2.7 = 70.2

We start from a clean slate now as far as net spend is concerned.

Seeing the most active of the player named threads for the transfer rumours forum doesn't fill me with excitement at all.
But then you look at who we were least excited about last summer and the impact that he had.

Shiny exotic names aren't always the options that will yield the best results

All the ITK so far suggests that almost all the players we have been linked with are no-goers (which frankly is a bit of a relief as most have been deeply uninspiring ) and that we will eventually add to our squad.

There's little reason to think that Levy won't do what he normally does and wait until the big teams and those with cash burning a hole in their pocket have shot their load and then looking at our list of players we would like and seeing who is left and playing hardball in a buyers market.

If you look at a team like Everton who have already spent nearly £90M of the anticipated Lukaku/Barkley largesse on Jordan Pickford-Sunderland, £30m, Davy Klassen-Ajax, £23.6m, Henry Onyekuru-Eupen,undisclosed, Sandro Ramirez-Malaga, £5.25m and Michael Keane-Burnley, £30m you can see that they have paid top whack for the luxury of early transfers. Only Sandro Ramirez who had a £5.25M buy out clause is a Levy type signing

I suspect that when the window closes most of us will be happy with our dealings if only because our expectations will have been so successfully lowered.
