Morning toerags

Happy Star Wars day. I didn't know anything about it until last night in the pub when our local Blacksmith, who's dyslexic said "May the forge be with you"

I did write a Star Wars ITK story once but I can't be arsed to find it.

Anyway, here we go, a nice new thread for you.

Star Wars Day, you say? So then, is Sissoko Jar-Jar Binks?

That's harsh. Comparing him to that useless lump who can't even control his own limbs and is only included for the comedy value...

You leave Jar-Jar alone! :p

Dembele....
Is looking for a 3 year deal with s significant pay rise. A last big contract with a bit of security as far as length is concerned. As a club we can not make that sort of commitment to a player who in all likelihood won't be physically able to last the duration of that contract. It would be foolish to commit to that sort of outlay with so many other financial factors to consider ATM.

He understands this fully and his people are aware of other clubs from all over showing interest and willing to offer him a good deal.

The club are going to do everything they can to get him the deal he wants, as he has been an outstanding pro and servant to the club, often playing through injury for the cause. I don't see this happening early in the window as the world cup is in his favour as far as negotiation is concerned. He is almost certainly off though, and a replacement is a priority.

I suppose that's inevitable news regarding Dembele. I make no secret of my affection for him and he will be sorely missed when he likely goes, however, I agree with the club on their stance and feel it's the right time for us to move on.

The kicker of course is who we get to replace him and it immediately becomes our most pressing need. If we can make a big splash and sign a brilliant young player like Kovacic or Milinkovic-Savic then it will massively soften the blow of losing Dembele and give the fans some genuine optimism for next season.

We need to move quickly to secure whoever that player is going to be.

Sounds like the sort of scenario a club like Man Utd will be all over- they have the cash to take those kinds of risks. Bastards

Personal l think he might go to Italy. I'm sure he would want to choose a league less physical then the PL to prolong his playing career as much as possible.

Lol it'll be 2230 on deadline day and Levy will piss off Madrid with a £20m off for Kovacic. We all know it

Wonderful player. Great servant. Would wish him all the best if we cant do it. And to be honest, I wouldnt give him a 3 year deal unless there were appearance clauses in it.

The benefit of this is that it would mean we could look to bring in a passing CM who can dictate temp alongside the defensive midfielder.

I am seemingly in a minority as I see dembele as a midfielder who never makes telling passes in the opposition half also he does not score goals and so if being tough to get the ball off of is the requirement for the spurs midfield then dembele fits the bill .I prefer my midfielders to not only be hard to get the ball off but to also make a goal now and then also score a goal now and then

Sad tbh, quality player who boss'es the midfield & he never gives the ball away as his chant goes. Please don't move to another PL team Moose
