I can think of 600,000 reasons a week.

I never understood this saying

One solitary pound equates to one reason

So when asked what your first reason is, you'd have to answer "One pound"

After a puzzled look, I'd ask, "Okay, what's your second reason"

Again, you'd answer "One pound"

We could do this another 599998 times, but I catch on quickly and say "Is his weekly salary very high?"

You answer, "Yes it is"

I reply "That's one reason"

To which you say "Thanks HT, you're a legend "

I conclude by reassuring you that "you're welcome"

Champions league clinched! Since its a home game hopefully we get some positive ITK tonight.

Right so looking forward.

-New contracts for Poch, Eriksen, Kane, Verts, Dele, Son, Lloris and Dier please. In order of importance.
-At least one or two new CMs. 1 big one, such as Kovacic/Modric or big prospects like Diawara or Ndombele. I'd like Maddison from Norwich to cover a few roles.
-De Ligt in if/when Toby goes (outside PL please). I like Stones, Lascelles or Mawson as homegrown (but lesser) alternatives.
-Big push for Martial, Sessegnon or even Bale.
-Hopefully get Winks, Wanyama and Rose (I think there'll be no takers) 100% fit for the new season.
-Full backs - Give KWP a big chance in pre-season, see if we can remove some of the crazy from Serge too. Hope Rose can get some form back if he stays. Sess if we use wing backs. Ricardo Pereira would be interesting as he covers both sides and has the physical attributes.

That would be my ideal blueprint (not expectation). 4-5 signings. If we can achieve even 75% of that we will be well set for next season.

Note: Almost all of the above has been touched upon by ITK also, especially in the 'summer transfer wish list' thread which has since been deleted as far as I can tell. Maybe we can bring that back in the transfer rumours section mods?

I don't think Levy shares our or the mentality of other clubs that you don't sell to rivals. If they are willing to pay his rival markup fee then he will sell.

I wonder why Bale wants to stay so bad. We've seen the clips of him on the bench not celebrating goals, not starting in big games. Just seems like a strange situation.

Not stupid at all, selling Toby to a rival should be a no go, but EPL teams will pay more in transfer fees. I would welcome Bale back with open arms even with his injury record and age. It makes no sense to take him back, but I love him and he still has pace and skill to change a game.
