Guys why don’t you take your HG chat to the HG Chat thread before A&C has your NonGrown for supper.

Amazing. A chance to sign someone who would improve the squad and probably first 11 but screwed because of shite signings made over the last few years.

Yup - when have we ever bought, or had the chance to buy someone like Martial?

If that’s the case it’s a total cock up. I’d flog the peripheral players for F’all - the write off would just be the cost of making a bad buy

So they’ll sell us Tony M but now we don’t want him because Poch wants AN Other non HG?! And we can’t have both cos we’re scaref of losing money on VJ? Bizarre window!

I am just going to put this link here:

For anyone who wants to see/talk about the HG / non-HG issues facing the club. Better to keep that conversation over there. Suffice it to say, even with Toby gone, the next non-HG player we sign would put us 1 spot over the limit for the league, and 3 spots over the limit for CL (because Davies and Foyth both have to be registered as non-HG, over-21, players in CL, but not the PL).

Hang on... Isn't Toby non-HG?!!
In which case it's one for one isn't it, or is it because one is a defender and the other three useless ***** are forwards
The answers are literally clear throughout the thread.
Already 3 over and any spots that do open up are being used on other positions.

ali z on turning down martial?: no we aren't turning him down but have no space for non hg as it is Jansen, gnk and 1 other won't be registered, can't create a situation where we have 3/4 players getting paid who can't kick a ball.
This I just don't understand... We can still sell and loan to the rest of the world once the PL window closes. I thought it'd be pretty obvious because of the change to the PL window we were going to have to buy before we could sell. Adapt or die and all that.

Once the window closes - and the English teams are out of the market - prices for players will drop significantly. Teams that have to sell/move players will be at a disadvantage.

Yep. And the other teams know this. So why bother buying now. I realise it's an advantage but the rules of the game have changed. We can't just not play because it's unfair.

You see this is where I get confused. Is this HG chat not directly related to the ITK which has just been provided?
Loosely correlated.

ITK - we are selling Toby, we are not getting Martial, we have other priorities.

The issue of HG spots has been done to death already here - its not really a discussion, its more people being unaware of the constraints - and that is a conversation best left for that thread.

on sending them out on loan after our window closes: Hopefully but window closing early puts us in bad situation.

on HG situation+martial:GNK and VJ will not be registered it is if we add to that we have to leave others out, as i said Pochs priority is elsewhere at the minute.

on getting rid: Clubs abroad are hoping to get them for virtually nothing.

Surely can loan them out on the cheap for this season, helps get new in and if players on loan preform can recoup money next season. Be brave and all that

Also... it didn’t say “we don’t want martial so that we can register NKD and Janssen”, it was pointing out that as it stands already they aren’t going to be registered, so adding more non HG players would mean that more would miss out

Yep I understand that, but since Ali Z mentioned HG in his post, and directly linked that as to why we probably won't be signing Martial, I can see why the discussion would sway in that direction...

So what’s stopping us from simply assuming for the moment we’re going to sell/loan VJ, GKN, FL when the window closes and bringing in players based off that assumption? If we know there’s a post-deadline market for them and we’re so ready to move on from them that we’re willing to cut our losses, why couldn’t that factor into our pre-deadline negotiations? I know that’s financially risky and may weaken our negotiating position when shifting the players off the wage bill, but if agents and other clubs know this is our situation anyway isn’t all the leverage lost already?

Whoever is feeding this info through must just be doing it to have a laugh at all of us losing our shit. No other explanation for such insanity.
