First up yesterday was Pottle with news on 'Oscar'...............
POTL said:
Bid has gone in. Nothing more to say at this stage. No cryptic.
No cryptic? No shit.
Then Roger Morgan with a sneak peek at an upcoming edition of the Daily you-know-what............
Roger 'The Daily Mail' Morgan said:
There are talks scheduled Thursday with Lloris and his father but Arsenal want him too. Micky Walsh, ex-Blackpool, is a good friend of AVB and a go between for any deals in Portugal. Don't dismiss Hulk talk, though personally I'd be amazed if he wasn't too rich for our blood. Moutinho a definite goer as Modric replacement. Got nothing on Oscar, except he's a Joorabchian player. They tried to park him at QPR in Jan on loan to get him in Europe shop window. No word on VDV. If Hamburg offer enough I think he'll go because we could prob get younger and fitter in that role
Tomorrow's news, Fridays chip wrapper.
Then we had a quickfire double..........
Ackie & POTL said:
We are WORKING on someone BIG from RM.
Lloris is one of the keepers we have looked at.
PSG and RM wants Modric.
QPR/So'ton/WHam wants some of our players.
QPR and W.Ham wants Defoe, Gallas...
BIG name from Madrid COULD be on the cards.
Apparently Vert by the end of the week or early next week, but we have heard that all too often right?

POTL Replied…….

To be fair, he's on the money.
Gallas on his way out is spot on, and the rest of it he's not far off.
Interesting stuff............
POTL was busy.............
POTL said:
JJ will be leaving. If someone takes him!
Lennon:Not.going.anywhere.
Fair enough............And there was more to come.........
POTL said:
Movement on Ade, should be next in along with Vertonghen (haters please continue to doubt!)
Exciting times.
Certainly exciting times............
Then Akqayid posted.........
Akqayid said:
Couple goings hopefully personal terms agreed by end of week. And the LV holdall will be landing in London come Saturday
The holdall business was Vertonghen. Anyone else posting photos of designer luggage can say goodbye........
Then more 'double act' ITK.........
Jasper/Archibald said:
Jasper said: VDV is more likely to go (we desire) if someone actually speaks with money than just enquiries.
Poster on SO said: No no no Jasper. That has to be wrong. I hope so anyway. We have absolutely no reason to sell him. He loves it here and he was one of the best players of last season.
Archibald said: Afraid not Jeff, it could play out over the window.. Jaspers post was good
Its like the script for a play or something...........

Oooh look at what I just found in yesterdays thread............
know for a fact that if van pervert is available that Barca will go in for him.
And I know for a fact that you're out of here. This is Spurs Community not Barcelona Community.

Last night I walked into ny bedroom with a Sheep under my arm while the wife was in bed reading.......
I said....."This is the pig I have sex with when you've got a headache."..........The wife replied "I think you'll find that is a sheep.".........So I said "I think you'll find I was talking to the sheep."

Good morning A&C, up early.
All looking good, but I don't like the signs pointing to VdV's exit.

Right. Back to ITK. Don't like the news that VDV might be on for a move. 13 goals from midfield last year was decent. Maybe he does not fit into the AVB ideology of the "pivot" also being able to be a box to box midfielder so to speak. However, VDV loves the club and is a winner. Would be sad to see him go after all he has done for us.

maybe levy as a business man, is looking to to replace vdv, because now you would get a decent fee for him, and he is approaching his 30's?
For me he should stay, as long as he is happy, but with the schalke story a few weeks back, there is no smoke without fire, there seemed there was something happening.

Not sure if there would be many clubs willing to pay alot more for vdv than what we paid. I think we'll need him next season.

I think we could easily get More than the £8m we paid for him.

Really? I think he is probably worth double the £8m we paid. I don't want to sell him though love having him around he place.

I'm sure there are plenty of valid reasons why we might want to sell VdV.

But if he goes I'll be gutted.

Yeah, I can't see us selling our one reliable finisher (bar Bale) this summer. It would be madness so I don't believe it. I don't believe anyone would bid enough to convince Levy if we were to consider it.

I would also be surprised if we let Defoe go although can't see him being 1st choice either.

One more season for each of them I reckon...

Morning all, long time reader first time poster.

In regards to ITK, as much as I love seeing Van der Vaart in the Spurs shirt, this may be Levy seeing it as the only time we can gain financially from VDV. What with his age, and contract length dwindling, his market value can only go down from now. He may also want to blood youth early, e.g. Sigurdsson, especially due to Rafa's injury issues.

Good morning all! Wonder what good news await us today, perhaps Vertonghen signing? On a busy week like this I fully expect a signing per day! ;)

It might be unfortunate to let VDV go already, he is a fantastic player reaching the peak of his career, but I feel if we receive a decent bid he will go - the signing of Sigurdsson points to that... I am also a bit surprised over the "news" about Ade, did not think it was plausible - partly because of his wages and partly because of AVBs tradition/rumour of clearing out older "stars".

The more I think about the big investment (be it naming rights/stadium/selling share of club/takeover), I wonder if we are not trying to complete all our incomings (and outgoings) before we announce the economic news. If it was made official that we might receive some "economic muscles", our potential targets might increase in price... :cautious:

I can see us letting defoe go for a reasonable bid. I presume he's on very decent wages for a bench warmer... all hinges on replacements, i.e. sturridge new defoe?

Would personally like to see our 'Players In' column looking a little larger before we ship any more out.
