well without asking, the understanding I get from others is its an option nearer deadline day that may suit both parties. Maybe a loan swap?

I agree with that. Andros is at the age now where he wants to play regularly. With the emergence of Lamela, I don't think he'll be first choice in his preferred wide right position. Poch seems to be targeted a wide forward for the left side and if he really prefers Rodriguez, Remy could be a good stop gap on loan.

From Remy's perspective, his failed medical seems to have dashed his dream of playing a for a premier league club participating in the champions league. I think a loan to us would give him a chance to demonstrate what he can do at a higher level than Newcastle and the European stage.

Really? You'd swap a bright, young speedster like Townsend for a player that just failed a Liverpool medical and was touting himself for a move to Arsenal? Not me.
Would you do it if it was a loan swap where Townsend would get guaranteed game time and we'd fill a position that Poch wants to have a specific type of player for (while also getting additional striker cover)

Why not if its just a loan...

Remy is a proven goalscorer, Andros would get prem time so we could see how he improves , i would swap IF it was JUST a loan.

Mean as this is the ITK thread are we allowed to post Ghostofarmo latest info from FTL?

He says it's imminent. Regarding MM.

Please delete if this is not allowed.

Andros Townsend is 23. In footballing terms, he's not that young.
And he's certainly not very bright either. 1 goal (which was intended as a cross) and ZERO assists which I think is the most telling stat. The guy plays with his head down, dribbles brilliantly passed players but ignores his team mates and shots wildly at goal.

Remy, 14 goals and 3 assists. He may have a failed a medical but those stats seem pretty healthy to me.

Pochettino seems to have made his mind up and is targeting Rodriguez on the left and Lamela on the right. A loan for Andros could be a great move.

i don't want to go too deeply into it, but you might want to google up on sea otter sex!
FFS!!! I typed 'sea otter sex' into my search bar to check that it returned relevent results about what i was talking about at the time of posting the above gem. Screenshotted a work thing later (forgetting about my last search) and sent it round the office! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Strength in depth is particularly important - especially with European games. Townsend can play wide right & wide left. He's a young player (yes, 23 is young) who's obviously eager to learn. Pochettino is supposed to be great in developing talent. If that's the case then it would be silly to move Townsend on at this point. Townsend was one our best in the pre-season as well.

Why would the Club want to risk bringing in a player such as Remy with concerns over his ability to play? A Liverpool reject. And wasn't he seen hanging around Arsenal a la Odemwingie? (I admit last comment is not too fair),

You can talk stats all you want but the game is more than that. Townsend was one of the brightest lights under AVB. He's a player that has me excited & on the edge of my seat when he gets the ball. Spurs need players like that.

Remy or Townsend?

Townsend.

The only reason I was on the edge of my seat when he got the ball was to be ready to hurl abuse when he lost possession or shot off target

Seems pretty reliable, I think he was the first to call Bale's departure for 85m

He called it as done in early August. In my opinion that was too early, no way was the deal done in early August, an awful lot of posturing went on between then and September. Not knocking this info though, but maybe his source has a tendency to leap from 'very close' to 'done' prematurely.

Personally think a loan swap with Remy/Towsend is a cracking proposition.

Absolutely. I know I keep saying it but Ade has malaria and is off to the ANC, Kane is a promising youth player (but no more than that) and Soldado could just as easily prove to be a waste of money as turn it around. A proven PL striker on loan who can also provide goals from wide areas is a no brainer (assuming he can pass a medical obviously).
