Personally I'd like to see a back four of Rose-Verts-Alderweireld-Trippier. Seems a bit more balanced than having Rose and Walker bombing down the flanks. I'd like a proper DM in front of them, but we don't have one of those at this point in time!

Yup.in a cm 'two' I'd Like 'sit while I bomb on yeah?'

Just a slight caveat to Ade proceedings, Ryan will back me up here, when we 'signed' Ade way back when it took 8 months of negotiations to get him through the door. He and his agent have all sorts of additions when it comes to a contract. To be fair to him a Lot of it is charity based but IMO I think he's almost abused his stance on that particular flex.

He's like your sisters's underage best mate.......

Charlie Austin? Would someone point to the ITK on Charlie Austin because as far as I am aware, there hasnt been any. So that begs the question, why in the fuck is he being discussed in the ITK thread?

Gard mentioned him yesterday. I believe more as an opinion (about Levy's preference for deals) than as ITK.

Positive news from JJ. Let's not also lose sight of the fact Levy was quoted as saying a week or so ago we will buy more players but it's likely to be later in the window.

Nothing to suggest we won't!

It's a good point SK
I'm usually very frustrated at this time of the window but for some reason, this time around I feel very calm as I have a sense that this window is fully under control. It's seems we have a legitimate plan and process in place.
3 defenders in early doors means we've had a whole pre season to gel them all together and this was our Achilles heel last season.
We obviously need a CM and at least one forward player but the ITK would suggest we have many options out there and all seem to be plausible reinforcements. It maybe cliched but I think we have learned lessons from the summer of 2013.
The most pleasing aspect for me is the realisation that the board are in complete cahoots with Poch and what he wants to achieve.
Whatever happens on Saturday, I'm very pleased as to where we are all things considered.
I was privy to inside info 2-3 years ago and the way we operated was very erratic with no real plan. This summer feels a whole lot more structured and kudos needs to go to Levy and all his troops this time even if they've under delivered previously.

premature. kudos if he and his team sign forward players, who turn out to be good buys. going into the season with just kane is laughable at best and a huge risk at worst.

I was very behind the idea of McCarthy but if Jj says we ended interest early it must be because we're confident in other options which I take as a positive

Does anyone else think this "mystery" CM if indeed there is one could be Alex Song.
As far as I know he's not signed anything at West Ham and I can't think of many other, realistic targets at this stage in the window. Underwhelming obviously
