WALOB, in the 80s we broke the British transfer record to buy Gazza and were regularly one of the big spending clubs.

P.S. This is a fans forum not the Spurs equivalent of Venezuela where dissent isn't tolerated.
That's what I'm saying. We do things the way WE do things. The criticism of our transfer policy is boring. It's the same critique year after year. We know what we're like so accept it and be joyful in the ITK we receive. I fully comprehend this is a forum, but there seems to be this narrow boundary in which folks operate; the moaning and groaning at Levy etc is old hat and more fickle than an Arsenal fan.

Can someone tell me why everyone is so negative today despite the fact that the last few bits of ITK have been very positive?

Like most people I take ITK with a pinch of salt, However ITK does not mean it will happen. It has been known for some time that we were going to loose our RB. Knowing the philosophy Of MoPo, I think most of us were expecting a relacement intime for pre season, for obvious reasons. My feelings are that without this RB inplace I am apprehensive of what the results will be in our opening games, Further more knowing that MoPo wanted early incomings, a lot of us will now be apprehensive as to his own state of mind regarding the lack of those incomings. I have no doubt that efforts are being made to procure these players, but how long will it take to bed them in and get them settled to our way of playing. I apportion no blame as like evreyone else here I am not privy to what goes on. But we are entitled to be concerned.

biggest problem with the slow start is that the games at start in August still count as much as an away game at the end of the season when we are needing 3 points to go top of the table - the slow starts are killing our title chases

I can see Gylfi in the next day or two and Barkely by the end of the week then. It wont stop people moaning though.

Did we sell every member of the team that won 12 of our last 13 games of last season? Sure seems like it.

Because for some crazy reason that's only possible on this forum and this thread loads of people convinced themselves we'd be announcing a big signing today. Based on very little indeed.

I'm not exactly thrilled with the transfer window so far either and I think there is a good chance leaving things so late could blow up in our faces. However, I'm conditioned to it by now, have learnt not to get my hopes up and can see no point now moaning about it until the transfer window closes.

Having said that, people have the right to moan without being accused of not being 'proper fans'.

It's a full moon over here. My wife has started her period.

A few more bleeding c***s are in sync on here.

You'd have thought the last 30 years would have toughened you up but apparently not.

Over 3 weeks remaining and the guy who famously likes to deal late and who assembled a bargain squad of near champions has not yet seen enough value in the market to invest. Plenty of ITK linking us to great players at good value.

Over the next few weeks I expect DL to deliver, much like my wife. It may not be the stuff of my dreams but it will do nicely.

Some of you I expect to need a transfusion of plasma.

You have no idea what I'm on about ? How about we don't have a RB for our first game.

We know the targets and they haven't changed is about as useful as we me saying I've picked Jessica Alba as my missus and I've not changed my mind.
Yeh we don't have a right back, that is an issue. But that has nothing to do with the post I replied to. Which was:

'we we are still "considering" every RB'

It seems we are doing the opposite. Which is needlessly slow playing for one target Right Back.

Can see the headlines on Friday, 'Spurs finally move for Barkley with opening bid of 12 million' Lol

Then cue Koeman interview and derisory/insulting bid

:D

Good news this and nice try attempting to save this sinking ship of a thread!! Thanks for the digging.

I would like to think its this thread going into meltdown that is "accelerating" the Barkley deal

I think it actually meant our first choice targets haven't been bought by another club yet, I doubt we are even remotely close to signing them, you have to have bids excepted for that.
We do have ITK saying that things should be seeing movement this week. So I think Levy knows what game he's playing. Though his emphasis on getting the best deal, really does not help matters.
