Wasn't there an idea that Baldini wanted holiday entitlement? Probably won't see him for a fortnight then!
I thought their may have been some confusion over this, and that it was that he wanted to be able to go to South America scouting. Though this could definitely be mixing fun with pleasure. The kind of pleasure that gets you a World cup and an Olympics.

I didn't understand his comment. Was he saying he would get more vacation in general? Or that he was taking an immediate vacation? Maybe it was a translation issue
I got the impression Roma had him working all the time, after all they're owned by tight-with-holiday Americans.
He might need/want a holiday?
We just want ITK. If only he knew

Wasn't the rumour that AVB went scouting at a similar juncture last year? I'd love the idea of a new DOF turning up at the club relaxed, chilled out and with a few exciting signings in his duty free!

Tell me is it true that the USA has no legal entitlement to paid vacation?

Sorry for the OT question Mods. Please spare me!

I had been fairly reliably told that this was true, but it would be nice to have it confirmed by someone who really should know!

I think they do get holiday, but not much, and they probably don't get paid for it. But they do have 2 Christmas's as that's basically what thansgiving is but without the jesus.

American owners wouldn't force the staff at Roma to work the same way, expecially someone in Baldini's position.

True. No statutory entitlement to vacation in the US although most employers give at least 10 days. My son lives in the US.

Think I heard someone say Baldini likes to disappear to South America for weeks at a time on scouting trips. As he was GM at Roma (I think) they may not have allowed him to bugger off like that. But as our technical director we would actually expect him to.

James Pallotta (president & owner of Roma) was almost never in Rome so Baldini had to take care of stuff that wasn't really his job.

You people and your crazy conspiracy theories. We all get vacation. It's not legally mandated, but we make it work. Are there people that don't get vacation? Sure, but usually they have bigger issues than going to Sea World. Plus to make up for it, we gets free diabetes and guns.

Umm, yes, right. Not the place for a political debate, and I suspect that there was a touch of sarcasm in there. It was the legal aspect I was interetsed in, as I know most employers do give holidays, but not always paid.

Mods I will now STFU on this subject! :D

Is there any info on Damiao's injury? Is it possible that he is taking time out to look for houses in Hertfordshire (glass half full) or is it likely that he is going to fail a medical when we finally make an offer that Inter would accept (glass half empty)?

he's only missing the game against France...its his ankle (i believe) and if he doesnt recover fully he'll be left out.
