I am suspicious that many that don't rate JG are saying that because he is not coming from a bigger club etc
He is a quality player and still improving
I expect you were also under whelmed when we signed Deli?
This kind of argument, people who say "A" now probably said "B" in the past serves no purpose. It's just fictive, unless you literally are keeping a spreadsheet tracking each persons comments.
I think most wanted Dele and welcomed him.

Let's just overlook that one of them played in the Championship, the other in the best league in the world. (y)
Signing Grealish is what we would have done when we were trying to break into top 4. Now that we are a top 4 team 3 years running, we should improve on our past transfer strategy, not follow it more closely than ever before. It's a different ballgame, being a top 4 team than trying to become a top 4 team.

Its not overlooking it. It is identifying players who have similar skill sets. Eriksen is among the best in the world. Grealish is not - but I think he has the skill set to improve in the same way that 22 yo Eriksen improved to where he is now.

My issues with Grealish have been around maturity and mentality - @Trix and others have commented specifically on his improvement in this area, and I am sure that is a concern for Poch as well - so if Poch signs off on this, I think this could be a good move so that in 3 years from now we have a 25-yo HG player in Grealish who is capable of leading a top-4 team.

Right now, we need someone who can be a playmaker in Cup matches, and occasionally spell Eriksen - I think Grealish can do that. I am not saying he is ready to boss Real Madrid - but we can't afford anyone to come deputize for Eriksen who is currently capable of winning the league.

If this is our best signing of the summer, I can see the disappointment - but I think this is a positive move towards helping the squad win a trophy and stay win contention for CL spots.

In three years Grealish will not be a Tottenham player.

I would be fine with Grealish. There are a few targets who I gave a "meh" to in the past that would have been useful to us now. A good example is Zaha. If Poch sees some characteristics in him that he believes he may enhance, then I'm all for it.

I like you, you are a positive person. You don't think in terms of glass half full or half empty. You bypass that and go straight for the full bottle.
