Of course it's about Leandro, in mid-July Leandro's agent was in Italy talking to Milan's people. This is not a new development.

Yep. Milan have been interested for a few weeks. They also have money to burn presumably after Ibrahimovic was sold.

They got cold feet when dealing with Internacional, their boss was saying Inter were asking insane numbers or something like that. I think if Milan were truly able to spend that much Leandro would be theirs already.

There is a hell of a lot in between what he did and covering left back. What I'm saying is, there is a reason he's not been snapped up for a big price by one of Europe's big boys or even for a reasonable price by one of europe's medium boys, despite being Brazil's No.9 and 23yo.

Some players can score goals and do a little bit more as well. Henry, Ibrahimavic, Llorente, RVP, Rooney, Berbatov, Drogba, Torres, Dzeko, Aguero, Tevez, etc etc. Leandro doesn't. He may have the knack of scoring but if he isn't scoring he isn't really doing fuck all else. If we buy him and he scores 20+ goals a season I guess we'll take a view, especially if AVB gets us playing well around him, but you'd still always prefer a striker that can score and still offers a bit more all round, especially in the modern game.

He reminds me a lot of Shearer, and that's the very best he could ever be. Not a disaster I guess.

I have to say that, if you offered me a 23 year old Shearer now, it bite your arm off.

I get what you are saying but I think he's shown enough to show that while not yet the finished article, the foundations are there to build on.
He's got the things that can't be taught, or trained into you, and I reckon he's well worth a punt.

He could well be just what we need.

Shearer. Not a disaster. Wow.

I think I'd maybe just take Shearer in our system...

Hopefully we tie up Ade soon just to ease our nerves a little bit!

wish we would, i would take selling luka to buy moutinho with a £10m differential, even if he is overpriced.

Me too, I like Moutinho a lot, in fact, as I've said a couple of times recently, I think he'd be better at 60% of the stuff Modric was asked to do anyway.

Can someone please mock up a Frazier Campbell pic with the caption 'Chill, i got this'.

It's all we have left now.

I wonder if he's available

Personally I really can't see us getting Leandro or Moutinho so my hopes aren't remotely high on either. However I'll be gutted if we don't get Adebayor and another striker, as well as some sort of replacement for Modric (Dembele or Allen would be nice).

Fingers crossed everyone involved in the transfers is stepping up a gear because right now we're on course for starting the season with one of the weakest set of strikers in the premiership.

I'm trying to look at JJ's optimistically, Leandro is cool with coming to us, that's something at least.

Whether we get Leandro or not, it would be very lovely to know our list isn't similar to below, although many of us worry that is an exact replica

1 - Adebayor
2 - Falcao
3 - Llorent
4 - Leandro
5 - Why would we need more than 4 targets

And precisely the same can be said of Huntelaar, whose praises you and others have been singing.

As players of a similar breed, I think Huntelaar is better than Damiao. I have always like Falcao too. I'm not totally averse to the pure No.9's, hell, I'm not even very averse to Damiao (beggars can't be choosers after all) but as you know, I definitely prefer my strikers to have a little bit more. Pure No.9's have to be fucking good to be worth having IMO.
