Levy just said on tv that there may be transfer activity this month if a chance arises to improve the team. He also said that none of our players would be leaving unless the Club wanted to let them go. ITK from the horse's mouth! :)

But has he been verified by the mods?

Direct quote: (got it from the ES - is that allowed in here as it's Levy?)

"I'm 100 per cent confident. Every single player that we want to keep, I can assure you will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur next season,” Levy told Sky Sports.

"Mauricio’s strategy has always been that if an opportunity arises that he thinks can improve the squad then we will need to look at it, but January is always a very difficult window."

That doesn't mean much. If a player wants out, they kick up a fuss and Poch no longer wants them due to their bad attitude.

Reading between the lines there, it doesn't mean we're keeping Rose for example.

I do like the bit where he doesn't rule out any transfers in this month though. :)

As long as we sign Sessegnon beforehand if Rose is kicking up a fuss then i'm fine with just him leaving. But again that one will be very much a case of us wanting to get rid of him.

Some wags may counter your post by saying, "have you any idea about anything?"

But that would be mean. ;)
It would be far more honest, entertaining and interesting than certain users who spend partx of literally their every single day spamming my posts with ratings.

Basically, no. Clubs could agree a fee in principle but it wouldn't be legally binding. Too many things could go wrong - the player could get a serious injury; another club may come in with a larger bid; the player refuses to sign. Nothing stops a team buying a player and loaning him back.

In the case of a Bosman transfer, a player can agree a pre-contract in January to join a club at the end of the contract but there is no agreement between the clubs.

Sorry mate but you're completely wrong there.

Teams can absolutely buy/sell players in advance and it happens all the time. They sign all the same paperwork as you do for a normal transfer but you just put the date in as the first day of the next transfer window (or whatever it may be). For example, we did that when we signed Modric. We signed all the paperwork in the spring some time I believe and then he came in the summer.

As for bosman, you're also not quite right. They can sign a pre-contract with another club 6 months before the end of their current deal (whether that be January or otherwise) but that only applies to FOREIGN clubs i.e. City cannot sign a pre-contract with Sanchez at the moment, but someone like Bayern could. A club in the same league can only sign a pre-contract with the player 1 month before the end of their contract.

Not sure why you'd give such a definitive answer to someone's question when clearly you don't really know what you're talking about
