Maybe pop over to the Zaha thread
the deal to take Zaha from Palace all comes down to how much the initial payment will be. Palace not looking for too many instalments.
The structure we have with the banks etc, there is absolutely no way we will even pay more than 50% upfront! It is NOT going to happen with any club based in the UK that we buy from. Beyond a 20m fee. It is not happening!

Palace are living in cloud cuckoo land of they believe anyone is going to agree to their payment terms. And hold up! They are the ‘never-never’ specialist. Borrowed up to the hilt?

If Zaha played for a glamorous club, or was more unknown but people watched his YouTube highlights, everyone would want him. His ability to beat a man is like nothing else we have. He is better than Lucas in that sense, even.

I am not saying he is my number 1 signing I would go for, but I can totally see why we would want him. He basically kept Palace up on his own from the games they won when he came back into into the side.

My biggest worry is that he seems to like to be the big fish in a small pond. Can he cope with not being that?

I think our group is probably as accomodating as it gets on that front. We have some brilliant players, but no real egos and all seem to get on.

I think it’s more about whether Zaha can transfer his influence on palace games to a bigger stage where he’s not the main man

It's 5 years since his failed move to United (well, he moved back in 2014). I suspect he learned a lot from that experience - and he's a much better player now. Having a team where he's not the focal point may be freeing for him. Of course, he could be one of those players who thrives under pressure on the pitch. No guarantees, whatever we do or whoever we sign.

I feel like Palace and crazy transfer demands are just one in the same. Curious if they will bend here. Hope we don't go in shopping for Martial or Zaha and come out empty handed but I know these things happen.

With the sole exception of the CL, it's the same 'stage',and he'll be in a better team with less responsibility to carry it. Should be a piece of piss for him

With regarding this Zaha revelation of a deal???

Palace in not a very good position financially. Don’t want to elaborate further. Only thing I will say, you don’t want them ending up a Villa. Funny thing is Parish been courting us for a year especially. But says different to the media. They have never closed the door. Even Citeh bulked at their crazy valuation on Zaha.

On a side note, Citeh refusing to pay over and above 70m for Mahrez
.

Does seem to be a bit of a sea change this summer, almost like the big teams have decided last season was out of hand and are trying to get them down again together.

In truth Neymar and the related deals (Coutinho, Van Dijk, Ousmane Dembele, etc...) should all have been seen as outliers, prices like £45-50m for Zaha make more sense and seem more sustainable than £70m.

"Even" Son? Son is not worse than Martial. He's absolute class.
I might have worded that wrong. I mentioned Son with regards to him already being a Spurs player, while Martial and Zaha are reportedly both targets for us. I agree with you, that Son and Martial are probably on the same level.

Thats a good deal. Vorm is a great back-up keeper, who is able to step in for Lloris and play the same style. Happy to have him around for another year.
Agreed, never understood the clamour for him to make way for a homegrown keeper. People don't understand that keeper could end up playing a huge chunk of the season if Lloris got injured and Vorm is the man for that. Leave the HG option to 3rd choice I say.

Aside from Citeh & PSG. I am informed that PSG are hamstrung, and cannot compete due to that, until they unload. Europe do not have the money of EPL. Guess what? Daniel knows that
