Good morning ITK'ers. If the ITK is accurate, we are on the cusp of making a signing. I'm thinking about going to Tottenham this afternoon to get a new TV for my mum but I can't make my mind up where to buy it from. The British Queen or The Elmhurst?

Yesterdays ITK began with JTG on about Barton

We are meeting with Joey Barton representatives today ...........Vile and ourselves in the frame.
Arguments followed about which newspaper it would shortly be appearing in..........

Then Akqayid........with that holiest of words. "Done"
Akqayid said:
When: 07/08/11
Where: SC
Diarra is done
Agents - agreed
Clubs - Agreed
Player - NOW agreed
I eagerly await conformation on the OS

And that was pretty much it, a very quiet day for ITK.

And now for a message from the Hudd..........

Spurs midfield star Tom Huddlestone would like to see you make a donation to help keep Spurs Community running. He said....."What did you want me to say?........Spurs Community? Um, yeah, make a donation to Spurs Community, its full of really nice Spurs fans........Can I have that pie you promised me now?"

HUDD SAYS HAVE YOU DONATED YET? WELL HAVE YOU?

EVERY LITTLE HELPS!

You might be waiting for a while but "this is our week", "today is the day" and "I've got a feeling something will happen today".

If we are lucky, based on last nights rumour in the media, there is a slim possibility that Ruiz or Zarate will join Diarra this week.

That would be our lot for this week (which would be a huge marked improvement).

My concern about BEN's information that Llorente could occur in the last week of the window, surely we are creating a similar issue with Rossi in January that we do not give the vendors enough time to use the cash to strengthen and reinforce their own team.

I personally dont think Ben is right with his Llorente information.
There would be other noises for it to be true.

I would just be happy to see we actually have a plan on what type of player we want to buy, worryingly we seem to be in for so many different types of strikers, are we going to play one striker with vdv? or 4-4-2....we don't really look like we know what we want....i hope i'm wrong but it all looks so wrong.

I would love to see us pair up Llorente with Rossi.....dream on i know.

I think the last week transfer that is most likely is Adebayor. If Real decide against, City will want him off their books.

We'll also loan a few in that last week.

Cheers for the round up A&C!

So fingers crossed this week that some of our squad players move on to pastures new so as to allow us to bring in a couple of newbies!

Wow slow start, this thread is usually at 3 or 4 pages by now. Last nights arrests must thinned out the number of active SC'ers.

I'm in agreement that I'm suspicious over the varied style of strikers we're linked with. It doesn't seem like, we the fans, know what kind style or manager likes playing. Whether that's true of Redknapp too is another matter

Getting adebayor in still seems the most realistic option and a very good one at that. What concerns me about the ruiz links is That he is the sort of player that we should have been looking at earlier in the window and then once signed go all out for the big name. I can't help but feel if we don't get our main target we will just end up going for anyone in Europe!!!

Does anyone know anything about Ruiz besides the standard wiki stats?

There is plenty of information about him in the Bryan Ruiz thread here in the transfer rumours forum. Plenty of details about his style of play, his track record, his versatility including information from some dutch fans.

I'm pretty deflated with the level of striker we are being linked to now.
I know, no matter who we get linked to, there will be someone on here that thinks that person is THE signing we must make this window, and above all else that’s the player they want. And they will be able to paint a picture for the rest of us that this player is ideal for us. How many times have we heard that this window already?
What we need to do is sign a marquee player. A name that will lift the doom and gloom surrounding WHL before the season starts. A Rossi, a Llorente, an Adebayor. Its seems we are missing out on these top level players and moving onto 2nd and 3rd string level players. Zarate, Ruiz may be decent enough in their own leagues, but will they improve us? Take our attacking play up a level?
We cant afford to pay big money for middle level strikers. Buy top level strikers, or buy highly promising youngsters, but don’t settle for mediocre inbetween.

Diarra + Adebayor + Rossi/Llorente would be a superb transfer window IMO.

We would of improved the squad loads.

Heres hoping we can pull it out of the bag!

After Peanut's info at the weekend I'm not particularly confident that we're close on anyone other than Diarra.

Mind you if Diarra comes in and can be fit to play on Saturday that would be a bit of a godsend. With Sandro out and Palacios unlikely to play we really need someone in that midfield who can tackle. If Diarra doesn't come in then I think Jenas may even start the game.

Yes the Diarra news from Peanut wasn't that positive, but I am sure it will happen sooner or later, although whether it is time for Saturday I doubt it. After seeing the game at the weekend I'd rather we went with two players that can pass the ball in the centre and go for the jugular against Everton than play Jenas. I'd even be tempted to throw VDV in next to Modric (Niko did a decent enough job and we dominated a team better than Everton) and go with 2 up top again.

What did the salted one say about Diarra?

I'm sure there have been times when Peanut and POTL's news conflicted, and POTL ended up being right. Stuff about van der Vaart maybe? I'm sure Peanut has claimed nothing was happening right before something did. POTL doesn't throw 'deal' type claims around loosely.

If Diarra is done then today should be a busy ITK day. Fingers crossed for some info from Peanut and POTL soon. I think Ryan said last night that he should be getting an update today as well.
