According to police on sky news all london matches are to be called off so we may have one by start of the season

Doesn't make a massive difference though, if we start the season away to United we could have a brand new shiny striker in the form of Eto'o and we'd still lose

Isn't it just the Carling Cup matched tomorrow they've asked to be called off?

I don't think the police would be able to cope with weekend matches to be honest. Theres talk of stopping Notting Hill carnival. I seriously doubt the match on saturday will go ahead

I know this isn't ITK, but really, this aint a political thing. It aint even standing up for one of your own. Its a rough area given an excuse to absolutely run riot. The TV images show groups of (very) young kids lobbing bricks.. It's the holidays, no school, its fun, join in, cause some trouble.

I'm not even old, but I saw all this angry youth coming through as I left school. I dunno what's caused it, but all the stabbings, shootings, and murders - life on the streets has changed. It disgusts me. My only wish is for every normal person in those areas to be safe from these gang twats.

Sort of is a political thing. They are not doing it because they have a message. The majority are doing it because they have nothing to lose. This is political because politics could of prevented it. Even in York where I am a lot of people my age (19) don't see a future and simply couldn't give a toss about a society, which is only interested in harming them, and treating them as a pest.

The riots are however a disgrace. But they could of been prevented. It is not suprising that it has come to this.

On ITK I would call it a stretch to say Rosi sounds possible.

The Storts info was obvious just by judging at what kind of player we are in for, and don't agree with Robs view. It was not exactly the most cryptic post.

Why do so many people stick up for Jenas - he has a great engine ? ? so has my mate but Spurs aint going to sign him. Bottom line is he aint good enough, ok a nice guy but just not good enough, needs to move on to try restart his career.n
Diarra is a good player, but not a priority, have a feeling we are waiting last minute to try get likes of rossi/llorient/adebyor on the cheap, hopefully we wont drop too many pts playing this waiting game.

The French like a good riot. Hasn't stopped Pastore joining PSG. Nor did the Madrid bombings stop Real signing 'galacticos' and I doubt doubt Fabregas will cite the riots as a reason to leave Arsenal.

Our ineptitude and/or our inability to pay big wages will be the reason why we fail to sign a top draw player. Nothing else.

If all the businesses around the club get burnt down, that would affect our bottom line, no?

We might drop points anyway with the run that we have, but then it is also true that our problems came against the smaller sides last season. We have the midfield to compete with the top clubs in one off games and hopefully Diarra will only increase our chances in those games. Then by the time we have to face the smaller sides hopefully we'll have got someone who makes the difference.

It seems to me that we are waiting for it to all fall into place for all of the major teams and then see what is left to pick up. There will still be some big name strikers who haven't moved that might suddenly become more interested as the end of the window approaches and they haven't made a big money move. Unfortunately we are always going to have to wait while we are not able to compete on the wages front.

People with nothing and very little hope are easily led and this isn't just an English problem,we have seen these riots against authority throughout the world recently.
People with nothing are demanding change..............they want a better life and who can blame them............we are only here for a short time.

That 30 mins could be crucial

I'm just thinking say the Rossi bid is true these big deals take ages to complete, why not slap a bid in on the 1st of July? I'll never understand this transfer thing, it seems so simple but people make it so hard.

I think it may have something to do with Harry going to the Everton v Villareal game and realising just what he would be missing out on if we didn't give it another serious go.

What I really don't get is this..surely if Rossi is not willing to come, we should already know..so why bother w another bid? Unless he is willing but not villerael..
