so lets get this right. he talks with united and fergusin , has talks with kenny, had talks with wenger and we come in with late bid but get no talks.. this stinks of levy alright. shame he was proper player, no wonder he wudnt come to us the way we go about business. more shite from levy and his pals in power seats again i see

From people on here who have contact within his camp - He was never interested in coming South - so stop your assumptions.

im actually very positive as it happens. we move on but im very suspicious and negative when it comes to the powers that be at spurs and the way they go about business /getting players etc.. some people might think clever and business like, i don't.

but also had a conversation with matty who had contacts i think and my suspicions were realised when he said he never wanted down to london anyway.. fair enough but it wud be interesting to know if harry had actually got chance to speak to him.. he said spurs were in but did he get that chance?

I agree. For me Adam would be a backward step on O'Hara. Older and far less versatile. However we can't offer JO'H the regular first team opportunities that he desires and I can therefore understand his move.

He is not that much older, infact he is lot younger then he looks.

Jamie O'Hara- 24 years old
Charlie Adam- 25 years old

Years have certainly been unkind to Mr Adam with teeth falling out and a receding hairline you would of thought he was nearer to retirement age .

i think DL & his board have done an amazing job with us considering we have a small stadium by premiership standards...

amazing job...

It's interesting to note that the three veteran strikers that many people speculated we may take a look at on free transfers have now all signed elsewhere (Van Nistelrooy, Klose, Elmander). That's not to say any of those three would've single-handedly solved our goal-scoring problems, but it does eliminate last minute cheap, veteran options, which we know our manager covets.

I think it's quite possible we could find ourselves priced out of the Falcao sweepstakes (by choice IMO) and we could see a number of the younger targets move to different clubs (Gervinho, Gameiro, etc).

Right now, it seems our improvement up-front rests on whether we can sign Leandro and Osvaldo. If these two go off the board to other clubs or we decide not to pay their fees, then we may just push forward boldy with Defoe and Crouch leading us next season. Osvaldo seems to have an audacious price tag that belies his actual ability. Leandro, by some indications, seems like he may be headed to us, but nothing is certain.

Truthfully, it wouldn't shock me if we didn't add a single new striker, and only off-loaded Keane. Harry can roll-out the following line to diffuse criticism: "We've got three fantastic strikers already at the club. Why do we need a fourth? They may have had a poor stretch of form last season, but that had to do with injuries, and a new formation. This year it will be different."

Of course, when our strikers inevitably fail again, we can roll out the "no one knew they'd be this bad again," line, coupled with "last summer we simply couldn't meet the outrageous wage demands of *player x*."

read in one of newspapers that we put in late bid. my thinking is he had talks with united and arsenal and liverpool but not us despite us coming in with bid but who cares, he wanted united and they came in for him.

There doesn't seem to be much structure to our transfer policy anymore, I don't think Levy or Harry know what/who the hell they want and will just go with the flow.

Is Elmander a veteran? Surely he's in his twenties

I fully expect to see at least one new striker at the Club, and feel probably two are likely. Harry has defended his strikers because he doesn't want to compromise their perception in the market place and of course if a few of them stay he doesn't want to publicly undermine them affecting their confidence levels. I find his remarks sensible and covering all bases.

I'm confident that Levy and Harry are fully aware that this department needs strengthening in order to truly compete next season.

and be partnered with a mispelt Falcao

Do you mean...Spurs...to swoop...for...Falcon:shrug:

Meanwhile, back in the World of reality...witnesses report seeing a giant seventeen legged spider-baby running off with several octogenarian Spurs players. 'Arry Octo-Signer RatMuff is reported to have commented confidentially to close aides (i.e. anyone he can communicate with) that he's a t'riffic player, and a triffic lad, and he wants to sign him. When questioned further about Spider-Baby's penchant for eating Octogenarian players, Mr RudeMop replied "Well, yeah, yeah, there is that fair enough...but we have plenty of Octogenarian players at Spurs so it will be a fair trade...we've been trying to feed him some of the younger players, but he ain't avin' none of it":eek:mg:
