Couldn't sleep and have been thinking about our squad...
I hope we get busy soon as there's actually quite a lot of business that needs to be done, for both ins and outs.
Fingers crossed that the next couple of days will see some movement, or at least progressive movement in what JJ feels he can share with us.

Good morning all!

We were linked with Llorente?? Surely, that was just a dream, right?

Hmm... When asked if "wages similar to ade? same age? potentially better?" he answered "yes, yes, yes". No one asked if it was possible, previously JJ has stated that Llorente needed to halve his wage demands in order for it to be possible.

Perhaps if we can get City to subside some of his wages... ;)

He has turned down a new contract offer of 4.5m Euros a year at Bilbao and may leave.

But, you know the fee will be huge and the wages will need to be more than 4.5m.

The fee shouldn't be huge as he has just one year left on his contract. Wages similar to Ade - that could mean what we have offered for Ade, I doubt he's on a huge wage atm, wanting and getting are different things.

Seeing as I know some of you need both hands to find your arseholes............

Q: Llorente has seemingly become available.. wages similar to ade? same age? potentially better?
JJ: In answer to your questions yes, yes, yes.

Here is what I read into this. If we'd wanted to, Adebayor would have been tied up long ago. But whilst seducing Adebayor, we've also been sliding our hands up Llorente's skirt and we're receiving encouragement. So, the in the hope of getting a finger or two wet, we're seeing if we can do better. I reckon Leandro is coming and if we can't get Llorente or A.N Other in sharpish now, i'd expect Adebayor to be completed pretty quickly once we're told we've lost out.

Getting very worried about our squad with the season starting in under 2 weeks. We haven't learnt lessons from previous windows obviously. If jj's latest info turns out to be right with regards hudd replacing Luka you can forget a top 4 finish. That's not saying hudd is rubbish but he's been injured for so long that IMO he can't be replied upon as our main main straight away. Yes it will be like a new signing having him as an option but it will be underwhelming having him as the only option.

Yet again we will lose probably our best player in the final moments of a window and a) be too tight to pay the going rate for a class replacement (moutinho) or b) be too late in the day to as other clubs don't want to sell.

We had an awful start to last season but were luck in some ways as the 1st two games were arguably the toughest two (both teams finished top 2). This year the start is a lot nicer. If we mess up the first few games it could potentially not us back miles as we would still have the top teams to play and already playing catch up.

The fact we haven't got a decent and reliable striker is a joke. I can understand why there hasn't been movement in recent weeks in other positions yet but don't tell me avb didn't know before going to the US that we needed 2 strikers. At this rate we risk playing Newcastle with Defoe leading the line. Pardew will laugh his head off seeing that. Other than Ade all other strikers we are reportedly in for are attracting interest from other clubs. It's very rarely we win any transfer battle with multiple clubs interested. The excuse is we tried but got priced out. I'm sorry but for a club aspiring to be top 4 year in year out or as the club claim 'to win trophies and league titles' that's not good enough. I fear for how detrimental Levy's tactics may turn out to be. I love him for runningnour club well but he needs to realise that at some point you have to spend a lot more money if you want to be serious. Football is not a money making business for club owners.

Sorry for the rant but it's the accumulation of frustration from the last 4/5 windows.

I don't see how JJ confimred llorente

He confirmed his wages similar to Ade, same age and potentially better. Let's not read into something that's not there as it will hurt later!
When I was 17 I convinced myself I would have a 12" cock................... shouldn't have done that.........now nearly 40 I'm clutching at the hope that I'll still get there!

Sorry to hear about your cock. I think where the encouragement is from is because previously JJ has instantly poured cold water on Llorente speculation, citing wages etc as the big stumbling block. Now it seems he's more attainable........Given that, my outlandish theory posted above could really be a stroke of genius. Hey, its me, of course it is ;)

I also have the feeling that JJ normally just answers the questions asked, hence if you ask him the question "Would you love Messi to Tottenham", he would probably answer "yes"... But perhaps that is just me being pessimistic, and I feel that besides that besides a hefty fee (even though he has one year left on contract) and high wage demands, I believe Llorente prefers CL football...

I am not awry against Llorente - I would be more than happy if he would come here!

A sensible enough theory, but i'm afraid I have to pour cold water on it (IMO of course) ;)

Naturally we cannot be certain wether we'll get Llorente or not but the fact remains, Adebayor isn't done when it really could/should have been by now and that isn't because of any magic thing like wages/fees/who pays what and all that. We knew all of that a loooong time ago. It is likely (IMO) that we won't get Llorente, but I really do think it is VERY likely that we've been stalling on Ade in the hope of getting another, more preferable option in.

Llorente could be waiting on the RVP outcome, to see who else would be interested in him, especially if he is after CL football. Depending on where RVP ends up, there could be Man U and Juve looking for a CF. we might be his fallback option.
