A sense of calm fell over me last night.

We are trying to get our quality players in and move those unwanted on, with the knowledge that we have the money to do the deals WITHOUT the Modric money, but not letting that be known so we dont get charged a premium.

We don't need to sell him and will wait until the 31st if we have to, but I feel we will have the rest of the squad in place.

A final thought I had was us finalising the Leandro deal, and another top striker, while some here are committing hari kiri, and really looking forward to our game against United.

All you have to do is look at the papers this morning to see how mad transfer fees are getting which means we need to get it right when we pull the trigger.

15m for Joe Allen?
12m+ for Steven Fletcher?
23m + Andy Johnson for Daniel Agger?

The fees being bandied about are crazy so we need to box clever. Unfortunately this may mean having to wait until deadline day but hopefully that will be in the best interests of the club.

If I was spurs and I knew Ade was gonna try and drag out the transfer over the summer and miss out on pre season, I'd be looking at llorente

I'm beginning to get fed up. Despite all the indications that we'd make early signings, we are in the same position as always, handicapping the start of our season, while we struggle to close deals on players we need in vital positions.
We need a striker, a proper CF striker, for next weekend. And its not looking like we are going to get one in time.

Feeling Frustrated this morning.

It will be a tad embarrassing if we start the season with Defoe up front and Kane and Coulilbaly on the bench. Not good times at all.

Fairly obvious that we need to get business done asap, and we basically have a week to do it. Knowing how long it takes us to get a transfer done it's just not going to happen, is it?

Damiao - is it likely we will make him our firststriker signing before signing Adebayor, which basically removes City from potentially trumping us? City wotn sign a striker until Ade is gone, therefore cant (not that they even want him) challenge us to signing Damiao.

Damiao, Adebayor, Llorente - if we get two of those 3 we'll have done very well indeed.
I think it'll probably be Ade plus 1 - Damiao most likely.
