Lol, you absolute bedwetter, there are just under 22 long hours left to go, how very dare you express your concern at this stage when there's still so much time to go?
I personally think the TW should just be 1 day. We'd probably still leave it late though...

Starting to look like the usual window for us. Excitement initially as we hear we have money to spend and a few names leaked. Then they fall through and we either get nothing or we panic buy a last minute deal we don't really need. Can't even use the market as an excuse as other teams managed to get deals done already. It seems only Spurs are finding the market impossible. After hearing about promises made to Poch I dared to get excited but starting to feel nothing has changed and our chairman doesn't really care if we win. I hope Poch stays but looking like promises will be broken.

£500k a week by my maths as i read we can extend his contract by 1 yr but will have a £25m release clause inserted.
To be honest, it wasn't something I wanted to start a debate on, it was just an observation that his value will slip by a fairly large amount of money over a relatively short period of time. I did a quick sum based on his value decreasing by £30 to £35 million over 40 weeks based on the assumption that Yanited may be prepared to pay £55 to £60 million for him (a sum often quoted on here) and that the release clause lets him leave for £25m. I worked it out as being between £750,000 and £875,000 per week and rounded up accordingly.

A lot of “not for this thread” really.

That’s me being nice.

We can't all have unconditional optimism for our transfer windows when we watch it go bad so often with last minute deals that fall through. Please let us know your secret.

Get worked up over things that happen. Not that could or might.

It took a long time for me to learn this. Before then, my incessant cynicism and defeatist attitude were the only way I felt alive.

I think we are incredibly tight for money at the moment. Does not take a genius to work out that we are pulling out all of the stops financially to get the stadium finished.

I think this is correct.

The lack of a stadium sponsor may have necessitated a rethink on transfers this window.

The big wage rises for existing players surely has some effect too.

If incomings were limited to JG it is still a nett £30m spend. That's totally out of keeping with the last number of years.

One question I've been asking myself recently.. Why would Daniel be over with the team in the states attending the games? During a time when he should have been busy with transfer dealings, not in the crowd at friendlies watching our B team.
Got to feel late window business was always his plan
Pre season blooding of new recruits obviously isn't important to him ?
