I normally would want us to do great business to stick it to the rivals who were kicking us down.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when it's actually a lot of people on the forums who I want to be mercilessly proven wrong by the events of the next 18.5 hours and/or the prevailing season.

This should be the most exciting time of the last god knows how many years with what we have, but so many people are soiling themselves over the fact that we haven't signed a shiny new toy, having yet to actually lose any parts of what is often described by pundits and neutrals as one of the best squads in the league as-is.

If we don't strengthen the squad and push on and improve, parts of the team will start being picked apart. Look at what's happening now with Toby.

If you stand still in football, you end up falling behind.

Unfortunately as much as I and everyone else appreciates the ITK and I do believe they are ITK (so this isn't a dig at ANY of them) A lot of it is going to be used to keep us coming back on the site, if they were to say in January "one summer signing" it would dramatically reduce the traffic on the site at its busiest time - the summer.

Them saying "150m net spend", "very busy summer" and so on gets everyone on the site, refresh, refresh, refresh = ad revenue + more donations. It really is simple and does not take a genius to work it out.

That being said.. They do us all a service so whether some things are exaggerated or somewhat false, it keeps us entertained in a forum we love.
I think this is the wrong place for you Dan. You. Might preempt a ban.

Plus we probably are going to lose some parts of the squad by tomorrow evening

Yes, lets.

He wants to stay, Poch wants him gone - we're trying to maximise that. We barely used him last season, for the most part by Poch's choice. Why? Because we strengthened already by signing one of the best young defensive prospects in Europe.

I might have chosen to go to the pub today rather than pay too much attention to this thread. Sorry.

But are we doing ok?

That is absolute rubbish (and pretty offensive to both everyone running the forum and the ITKs).

We pay a fortune for the server to be able to handle these next couple of days. We'd make far more "profit" by paying for a cheap server and limiting traffic as much as possible.

Apologies if you took offense it was not a dig at anybody.
I am well aware of how a site is run so it was not me spouting bollocks but me giving an opinion, which, after all is a what a forum is for, correct?
Maybe I have exaggerated to an extent but if my comment is not acceptable then simply remove it, I wont be upset!

First post about lack of signings. But I’m seriously worried that if we don’t pull a decent player in tomorrow we may well be looking at dropping out of the top 4. Not knee jerk but you look at the other teams around us and that Chelsea have no CL either. Toby is gonna go. Our players need to know they ain’t shoe ins for every game if they have a bad spell. Competition is needed.

Some of us are. Many are losing their shit and will need professional help if things don't change tomorrow.

Slap me sideways, in total disbelief we have not even improved the squad let alone the first team.

Forget buying anyone now as the integration into the team will take months and that has always been thr case. Player playing catch-up with the rest.

Even for poch to have committed too, by signing a new contract; he surely didn't commit knowing we were not going to strengthen.

Absolutely disgusted.

Think you are a bit off base here mate. I think we have a lot to be happy with right now, but it's pretty obvious every transfer window is an opportunity to improve our squad and push on, so you can't expect everyone to just be content with what they have see so far. City broke every PL record and bought a £60m player!

Poch obviously wanted players this summer. It's always good to freshen things up. If you aren't trying to improve you are going backwards etc...

Does making no signings mean we'll definitely drop out of the top 4? Of course not, we have a very good team, but it also doesn't mean it's the best course of action by the club.

Some people get a bit over the top when disappointed but they only want (what they think) is best for the club they love, like all of us here surely do. (assuming we don't get all petty about people having differing opinions to ourselves of course...)

Let's see what happens. I hope Levytime is trending tomorrow evening (not ironically!).
