Just waiting for Turkish 2.0 to appear now with an apology, in the form of conor mcgregor.

"I'd like to take this chance to apologise.......... to absolutely nobody! You bunch of complete dimwits!"

Two pressure points, Janssen has been done to death but we won't be winning pots with him leading the line.

Rcb is the other problem, where Dier has no competition. With Poch reluctant to play Wimmer and shuffle the Belgians across.
We saw ccv has miles to go based on Wycombe. This Foyth chap sounds good, and Veltman could also work.

Coming back to VJ, I hope we can switch him out and get King in, since King is also very effective as a wide forward. Maybe shift some fringe off on Eddie Howe to sweeten the deal.

I don't think we will do a Leeds by bolstering the squad in this way or even risk the stadium project. Just get em in for Pochs preseason, and on the tour.

Real world will see haggling instead, late player movement, and a lack of fitness and assimilation.

I'd take Barkley too for less than 25m since I think he can take over the Dembele role in due course. If he flops we'd still get our money back. A Levy deal if ever we saw one...

Veltman
King

Would do for me very much so - Wimmer will be out and Janssen unfortunately just won't do it at the required level IMO.

Barkley I've been against since day one but with £50m ish for Walker we could do those two deals and have enough for a £20m Barkley without breaking the bank so I wouldn't be against it in those terms.

Just the first two would be a significant squad upgrade IMO which is as you say, where we need to strengthen.

I went out this evening and by the time I got back, there were only 3 or 4 pages more. I thought 'this'll be quite shit'. How awesomely wrong I was.

RIP Turkish, may your understanding of 'first 11' become stronger while you're banned.
.

Yep the last few pages were a Turkish Delight ......

That Turkish stuff escalated really quickly. Not sure I've seen a live ban before. I feel somehow blessed and sullied at the same time. A bit like copulating with a really adventurous nun

Early bath for Turkish.

And at risk of derailing the thread first XI thread, I'm told our first incoming could well be this week. I doubt that is Barkley though because I think my mate would have named him if it was.

What a delight...in order to celebrate some eagerly anticipated positive transfer news, let's all get horrible receding hair lines and put funny numbers at the end of our usernames to honour a greats legacy.

It's Mawson 100%.

With prospect of Son injury.if we want to play 4231 our options really are thread bare .sissoko or nkoudou.Getting an AM in before season starts is an absolute priority imo.

As far as I know, first thing you do is agree a sale, then you negotiate. Standard practice. Only an amateur thinks otherwise.

Then, to conclude the best deal, you negotiate thoroughly ; payment terms including currency, installments, rights, timing etc etc.

Then during the process you renegotiate where necessary depending on what you discover through due diligence.

This is much like house buying where you renegotiate depending upon the results of the survey etc.

When the contract is signed, then, unless you are a monkey and haven't included penalties for withdrawal, you are secure in the sale.

Levy is probably just professional and good. The chairmen who complain are probably not and haven't worked the process properly.

If you're whinging about how levy does his business, I'd suggest the problem is with you.

This sounds likely to me.
The part about other chairmen being less than thorough is hardly speculation either. We know these are people appointed by rich owners to run their hobbies for them in some cases, and we know that football has had amateurs in the management.
One other point from me is that Levy probably isn't the only chairmen who gets criticism from his own clubs fans for screwing up deals by pushing too hard. Think Berahino at West Brom. Surely the fans though it would be best to take the money and get rid of a player that didn't want to be at the club. That's what people say on SC any rate.
Business is hard. You must try and get the agreements you want because that is your job. You are dealing with variables on the other side you just don't know about, and so often deals aren't made simply because they didn't really suit both parties.
This isn't to say Levy gets the balance right or wrong. I don't know, and I'm not really sure if anyone does.
None of this addresses the points about what people think of his way of doing things. What people think is important in its own right. Especially Porch and the players.

I think some of you got the wrong end of the stick with the Bale info. When I said next season I meant 18/19 when we move into new stadium.

Also never said Bale was signing. Simply the deal is there to be done because the ball is in our court and we wouldn't have put that option in place if we didn't want to consider bringing Bale back.

Turkish might put Bale in our first team :sneaky:

Enjoy your weekend (y)
