Is this the future? Some kind of meta-ITK? Is SC about to break through the fourth wall?

Stay tuned folks, there's nothing to see here.

Two areas I didn't believe we had genuine like for like cover for within the squad last year, DM and CF. Greyfox's ITK, if his assumption on the players identities is right, means that these may be being addressed early for a change. If that's the case, I will finally believe or scouting department overhaul has finally kicked in, and the time since the window closed has been spent scouting genuinely attainable targets who fit Poch's demands, as opposed to spending all summer chasing Berahino type players who's clubs won't deal, or randomly chasing Kramer or Bender type players who have no interest in coming.
If, as is suggested, we imminently sign Janssen and Wanyama, I'd be very happy with that. AM with pace would be a nice finishing touch, but less urgent.

I will only be happy if we sign a player who can genuinely open a defence up with a trick/pace/through ball, in my opinion it is what we lacked most last season and not one player we have on our books has got it!!

Agree, what about cover for Dembele and Dele

Seems like we may be forcing the issue with OM, either Batman at our price or we will sign Janssen.

How did you really get to that? Could be any one of at least 4 scenarios and you chose this one?

I love gossip hence why i rarely get much work done in transfer windows, but my favourite Spurs moment near enough was the signing of Klinsmann totally out of the blue, on teletext, I love surprises however addictive ITK is

Still my favorite transfer ever....(closely followed by VDV)

I assume you mean Dembele and Dele?
I think with a natural DM in the squad, Bentaleb will go back to the box to box role, understudy Dembele, with his energy. Sure I saw ITK the other day that said Bentaleb was not leaving. Alli is also an option, we have plus Winks or Onomah against weaker opposition.
AM role is one I I'd like to see filled too, someone with dynamism to stretch a stubborn defence. But with Eriksen, Lamela, Alli, plus Son, Njie and Pritchard settled and available, it's one that can be addressed over the summer. The DM and CF are the critical additions initially. Get them done and we're well underway.

Unfortunately, it's bee a long time since we've gotten a truly exciting surprise. Most of the surprises are followed by a quick google search, e.g. "How do you pronounce N'Jie?"

Modric was similar. I woke up one Saturday, and he had signed out of the blue.

Lol yeah Dele. ( Spell check) Take on board the players you mentioned but I think it became clear as the season unraveled that CM was a real problem when Dembele and Dele were absent

Agreed, but Bentaleb the previous season was the mainstay of our midfield. Seemed to lack the tactical discipline for DM this last season. However, alongside a designated DM of Dier or Wanyama, I think he has the power and energy to play the Dembele role.
Update 15, JJ suggested he didn't see us selling Bentaleb.

Cheers @Grey Fox

Although not as fun, i'd rather a tight ship and closed mouths than the West Ham board announcing their budget and fucking Jack Sullivan being an 'ITK' puppet for his dad on Twitter.
Bit of a side note, but the only reason they are doing this is that they are trying to create an aura of excitement so they can sell tickets.

On the point of the ITK and recent transfer news, it's a massive encouragement we are targeting players like Rode, and it will be interesting to see if we are actually looking to sign two strikers

We were a half decent team when Modric arrived whereas we were a joke when Klinsmann came, which is what made it so special, a world class striker at the top of his game joining out of the blue to a club in relegation fights, it would be the equivalent now league status wise of Ibrahimovic joining Bournemouth

Can't disagree, just hope it's the Bentaleb from 2015 we see,if it is then it would be like a new signing

I'd say it's a safe bet we'll sign more than one striker this season.

Particularly if we're losing Chadli.

I personally wouldn't be surprised to see us go back in for Berahino if other deals fall through.
