Koeman has a final this week at Southampton. Looking to seal the deal. Hopefully we can start moving from there.

Everyone will be at the world cup not just players. Agents, DOF's even some chairmen. Baldini should be out there partying and tapping up till their arses bleed. Nothing will probably be cemented while it's going on but 90% of the groundwork can be done.

If there's one thing that history teaches us, it's that signing players off the back of world cups always ends in disaster.

I don't want us to sign anyone that we've not been scouting regularly for 6 months + and are already a long way down the line with.

It means Morata.

He said it was in reference to the song (Ave Maria), before saying he'd only changed one word. Alvaro.

Could mean Vadillo, but I highly doubt it.

Who is Morata?? I get confused. Is he the Madrid forward or the Seville left back. Sorry for asking.

Can't be Morata - he's about to sign for Juve as their Immobile replacement

That's the estate agent who sorts rental houses for new arrivals isn't it?

So he's suggesting he's shown a rep of Di Maria around a property?
I'm not sure, all I know is he gets good info. Was bang on with pochetinno the whole time. He's also suggesting that it's morata, not di MariaMaria

Ossie was not exactly bad! Villa made pretty good second player

Might as well comment: Morata would be a very big coup, but because of that, you'd have to imagine we're down the pecking order of suitors UNLESS we'd guarantee game time.

BUT WHAT'S THIS?

Morata shares an agency with Vertonghen, Dembele, Walker, Falque, Livermore,
Leandro Damaio ( ), Michy Batshuayi ( :woot: ) plus an assortment of stars that often get big moves?

So at least Chief Dan has the inside track to his agency. :)

I might be completely off base on this but I swear I remember having read that Perez was actively trying to prevent Morata from landing at Juve or another similarly sized club out of fear that he might settle at a club like that in the same way that say, Pogba has, and not want to return to Madrid down the line if he fulfills his potential. It seemed like Madrid was hoping to find a smaller club that is capable of helping him progress but that would not be able to hold onto him down the line and would therefore be more open to the idea of a buyback clause. Partnership or no partnership we definitely fit the bill in that regard and if the buyback clause represents a big enough profit it's hard to see Levy turning his nose up at it.

The big question then is whether Morata would agree to sign with us as opposed to the more attractive suitors that will line up for his services, and the answer is probably no.

Possibly a couple of the exceptions that prove the rule? Unless you were around at the time, you really can't comprehend just how jaw-dropping signing Ossie and Ricky was.

Zokora was a bit of a comedown.
