Reading GF Trix and JJ and fitting the pieces in that are missing it seems that MB and Wanyama are the ones we seem most likely to get. I'm a fan of MB, but I do hope we keep those ties to Janssen as he could continue to develop into a very good player

Janssen the backup for when Chelsea come in for Bats because Lukaku costs too much

the chin feels it

:pompous:

I have a better feeling about Janssen, I can see it in his eyes.

Better value for money and less complications.

With the blue scum sniffing around Bats just brings negativity to the situation as they like to fuck us at every opportunity.

It sounds like on both sides we have the player on board and that the hold up, as usual, will be agreeing a fee. With AZ I can't imagine it would be difficult but it seems like VJ may be our backup plan should we not be able to agree a fee with Marseille which will seemingly be more tricky.

Marseille reportedly want €40m which is around £35m I think. Clearly we're not going to pay that and we know that before long OM will have to settle before the end of the month. I would guess we're shooting for closer to £25m tops and banking on the fact that the player wants to join us and that even if another club bids more than 25m, MB is likely to turn them down.

Gotta say though, I'm massively torn about whether we should be going for either MB or VJ as whilst I think signing both is do-able and quite a good idea, it also seems unlikely.

MB was the player I always wanted us to get, even back as far as January. That said, Janssen sounds a bit like a dutch clone of Harry Kane. Two footed, hard worker, clinical finisher.

I worry that MB doesn't have the work rate but may have the potential to be a superstar whereas VJ may always be something of a workhorse player that can only ever reach a certain level.

I'd also HATE to see Batshuayi end up at another prem club, smashing the goals in every week.

Ok so with the new JJ info what appears to be happening is that Bats is our number 1 target and fingers crossed we will get him - Janssen is our back-up plan and is ready to come to us if there is a problem with Bats coming - plus it adds pressure to OM by gently reminding them that we have other options.

Sounds fair enough to me.

Except when you consider they seem to be different types of strikers.

"My life is shit.

But, you all know how this ends

Well done Daniel Levy"

I'm desperately trying to make this in to a cryptic. The solution is obviously Michy Batshuayi done, but I can't seem to figure out the logic behind it...

JJ saying 'no chance' to getting both Bats and Janssen.

Batshuayi>>Janssen for me, we will sign the cheaper one though.

Janssen looks a great talent but also doesn't offer anything different to Kane. Bats can cover and also add pace and power, making him a good sub (9 goals off the bench last year) and front 2/plan B option, not just a backup.

Dutch strikers are a bit of a lottery too.

i've felt like JJ's whore the past couple of weeks but when I asked about the possibility of signing both Bat and Jan he informed that there was absolutely NO CHANCE

More worrying thing is that somewhere someone has asked about strikers and an ITK answer (don't remember who) was at the moment 'absolutely anything is possible'. There could be another answer to us signing 2 strikers....:cautious: Disclaimer - I don't believe it, but just saying.

Which ones aren't?

You could argue that Batshuayi's Belgian team mates have all worked out quite well in the PL, Lukaku, Benteke and more recently Origi. Certainly not as big flops as the likes of De Jong and Afonso Alves. French league also seems a little bit more compatible with the PL also (I do appreciate we have some ex Dutch league players in our squad).

I think people are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment if they think we may get both Jansenn and Batshuyi.

Common sense tells you that all the positive noises around the Batshuyi deal a few weeks ago and the fact it hasn't been agreed yet indicate that Marseille are holding out for more than we are currently prepared to pay. Add the fact our most reliable ITK indicated the Jansenn link was keeping our options open and there's no chance of both makes it pretty clear what's going on.

Personally, I'd prefer Batshuyi as he can play up on his own as a focal point, but also brings power and pace into the equation. Which is something we don't currently have.

I just hope we don't go for Jansenn purely because he's cheaper. If Poch wants a CF who has pace and power rather than merely a Kane clone then buying Jansenn because he's a bargain doesn't seem a good thing to me.

Is there a possibility we could get both and then loan Janssen back to the Eredivisie for the season?

I believe that there are 3 deals potentially in place. Batshuayi, Janssen and Embolo.

Its now about biding time until Berahinho becomes the only choice left ;)

Do you really believe their ethnicity makes them predisposed to success? They all come from different leagues / backgrounds.

Sounds more like a country has produced good strikers recently and not Belgian strikers will all work out and Dutch ones won't.

Bats is too 1 dimensional for us IMO.

He's a head-down speed merchant. I think he's about as suitable for us as Vardy is for Arsenal. Plus we've already got Njie for 'that option from the bench'

Janssen is a much more complete player - back to goal, link up play, all that that a lone forward really needs.
