I interpreted Val's post as being a response to the tenor of the discussion about hertyid's latest. There's been a lot of handwringing about our current targets (Grealish in particular) not showing real ambition.

I think what Val is trying to get across is that the scope of our ambition will be revealed over time as we build up, not that an announcement is imminent.

Building Up implies momentum toward something of significance. I’m guessing a major signing!!

My guess would be new contracts for Dele/Eriksen, based on this and previous ITK from The GOAT.

Got to be a signing right? Not that eriksen signing wouldn't be awesome, but I would put that on par with the Kane contract, not building up

"Building Up" is the mantra ValenciaYid has used to describe Spurs' plans for this summer - both signing existing players (and Poch) to extensions and signing new players. So, I take it to mean all is still on schedule.

Agreed, with the caveat that not all of our signings are going to be awe-inducing mega money transfers, but that doesn't necessarily bear relevance to our overall ambition. It would even fit with the "building up" mantra if lesser signings were made first and we built up, as it were, to the more impressive transfers. We shouldn't rush to judgment if we manage to get Grealish over the line before, say, Martial or Zaha.
