The delay in announcing GKN and Lopez is so bloody obvious and frankly f.....g annoying now. Held back to try to appease us today when we fail/just fall short with any other signings. We are taken for mugs every bloody time.

Just buying players, and spending money doesn't guarantee CL or winning anything. If it did Newcastle would have been in the CL last year. We spent more money in the Sugar years, yet were much, much shitter than under Levy.
Granted you are correct that just spending money doesn't guarantee success but buying to improve our squad was absolutely necessary in January in a title race & now with champions league football coming up.
Does anyone genuinely believe our squad is good enough to challenge to win the league AND compete in the champions league?

We had more points under #AVB just saying... Last season only looked so good because everyone else was so shit...
Had we strengthened in January last season we may have won the league but instead we stood still as we're doing again now.
You're spamming the thread #justsaying

I genuinely don't think us signing Isco or Sissoko changes that.

Football is what it is. We cannot compete financially with those clubs. Even when the stadium is done we will only be on a par with Arsenal and not the other three.

Yes we all want Levy to spend more, and yes this window he probably should have done.

But does that mean I want to rip my own heart out with a rusty pitchfork?

I just think that if some of you guys genuinely feel this way about a transfer window, then we're going to need to set up a new 'therapy' section of SC because it's not normal.

You are very wrong on this. We are already 100+ million pounds behind Liverpool financially. The top 5 are CRUSHING us in commercial revenue streams. We actually won't even have financial parity with Liverpool come 2021 when the stadium is built and debt free.

I think a lot of people on this forum need to genuinely sit down and look at the trends in football. There is a clear trend away from gate receipts as a major source of income (it'll likely be less than 15% of our total revenue this season) and towards television and commercial money.

And that assumes Levy or whoever is in charge will ratchet up spending. There is ZERO guarantee that the new stadium will automatically force whoever is in charge to spending hundreds of millions of pounds on transfers and on wage bill increases.

Maybe Pau Lopez isn't happening- Marca and a Valencia media outlet (DeportesCOPEValencia) reporting we are negotiating for Valencia Goalkeeper Diego Alves.

Can you kindly enlighten me with the reasons for this not being announced. 8hrs to go in the window etc. Genuine question and not being sarcastic.
Major changes at boardroom level at Marseille. Means basically everything has had to be renegotiated

Gate receipts are one thing, but the stadium will also have the capacity to host other events like NFL and concerts. Then there's naming rights. The gate receipts aren't the only source of income.
