We've brought in 3 senior players off the back of our best season in decades in which we achieved CL football - and you could argue not one of would get into our strongest eleven.

We also didn't lose a single starting XI player from our best season in decades either.

Got some concrete info on Sissoko. Not great news. Happy to pass it on if needed. Seems 95% sure he is heading to Merseyside.

I don't think anyone at that time thought almost all the depth we had with players like Chadli, Bentaleb, and Mason (all squad players but at least depth options in case of injuries) would be sold off and not replaced.

At this point only players you can sign are:

Players who are not wanted by a club - aside from Isco can't think of anyone who fits this and is good enough for us.

Youth players from lower leagues - got enough prospects at club already.

We find player who isn't necessarily available but we pay enough to force club to sell - obviously we're not doing that.

Or players that you have been working on for the last couple of weeks, despite the fact that some nobodies on some Internet forum haven't been told about it?

I think you're talking for a minority.

Our XI is far from perfect and we should be striving to improve it or at least sign someone who is on parity... Not add depth.

Like I said other day, we could have made our signings if we finished 7th.

I wanted to see real ambition to sign a top tier player, not half arsed attempts to appease us.
