Telegraph on Sissoko Deal :

"It is understood Tottenham’s change of heart came after Pochettino told Levy that he wanted Sissoko, no matter of the cost. The U-turn went against the favoured policy of both Pochettino and Levy not to spend more than £20m on players aged over 25, but it was agreed that 27-year-old Sissoko was the best player Spurs could get at such a late stage."

6 months of scouting and we end up with Sissoko on the 11th hour. Levy needs to review this transfer window. Overall still an upgrade so I am happy.

almost every transfer window. I really thought that getting Wanyama and Janssen in early was a sign of change, and NKoudou has looked done for weeks.. but then, three on deadline day itself.

I get that Spurs can't throw money around, but it gives the impression of either: a lack of planning or a lack of vision. Leaving it to the last minute when Sissoko has been available all summer. If he - or indeed any player - was available, it would have been far more beneficial to have them in for pre-season, rather than 3 games into the season.

I do think we are a stronger side in the end though, but I will also be putting a fiver on Bony to score on his debut next week..

I for one am happy with sissoko. Poch will get him working his ass off and he will have to fight for a place. Not like Newcastle. Don't care a joy how much he costs

I'm going to hell, I agreed with something @millsey said. I read a lot of great, good, and menstrual stuff on here, and I rarely agree with @millsey, but dude, you're on the money with this.

It took me 4 hours to read from pages 134 to 179 and what a roller coaster!

I was quite satisfied with the window as it was even without Sissoko. We had upgraded or improved the squad by getting in Wanyama, Janssen, Pau and Nkoudou. And at the same time we moved on Mason Chadli who despite contributing in the success of our recent transition, were not deemed good enough to take us further. (Thank you for your efforts and wish you all the best at your respective new clubs).

Coupled with that we have a new crop of young players to blood, namely Winks, Onomah, Edwards and CCV and co.

So for me getting Sissoko was the icing on the cake

Proven PL player,
French International who excelled at the euros
Pacey
Best fit available for Dembele cover
Wanted to play for the club so will be responsive to Poch's tough training regime and discipline expectations.

In other words the type of player who were were crying out for against Everton, Crystal Palace and Liverpool, in the absence of Dembele this season.

For people on this site harping on about the price tag, what planet are you on? Have you seen the prices being paid for even championship players? Most of you were the ones who complaining about Levy being stingy, but here we have him backing the Manager for a player who he desperately wanted irrespective of the cost and you are still moaning?

It is also well documented that he also wanted Isco and Levy had agreed to pay what Real Madrid wanted, but Isco unlike Sissoko didn't want to come, so why get your collective knickers in a twist? The thing is most on here seem to have a sense of entitlement without realising that Spurs is not the be all and end all for all players, especially if they are already at a bigger club, so we just have to get who we can. We are not exactly Manu or Man City, at least not yet.
So in closing just to say that it has been one of the best windows if not the best balanced one we have ever had.

Big thanks to the ITKers, Trix, JJetset, The Goat, Ali Z, plus Dovahkin the whore!, and Archiebald & Crooks who kept us on the straight and narrow.

See the rest of you on Match day thread against Stoke!

From a very satisfied BSODL!!

In a nutshell we have swapped Chadli, Mason and Yedlin for Sissoko when wages are taken into account!

In a nutshell we have moved three players on we didn't want and brought in one we do.

Will do a round up at some point today and tomorrow if this section is still here.

It feels like a fantastic window, not only because of the business we did but the way the day went yesterday. A proper rollercoaster ride with the Bipolar fraternity in its element and some cracking banter. At various points it felt miserable or exciting but most of all pretty much all day long it was fun.

I love it when this thread is fun.

In a nutshell we spent £30 million for Sissoko. We didn't swap those players, they had already been sold. We commited that sum of money for the player, there is little sense in trying to gloss over that fact by trying to turn the deal into something it is not.

Bloody Hell.

Just finally got to the end of the thread. I worked from home today to treat myself and have a whole deadline day to enjoy.

I have read every single post in this thread today and probably half the player threads too.

What a great day for SC. Smooth as silk, the best ITK's (no-one beats @JJetset and @Trix ), the best whores (@dovahkiin ), the best posters, the best spammers (@THFCSPURS19 I love you really), the best admins by a country fucking mile (@Archibald&Crooks and @Rob in particular I don't know how you do it every year), all on not just the best Spurs forum, but surely the best football forum on the net. I've never found anywhere like it, not even close.

Whilst I might be slightly underwhelmed by Sissoko it was a classic deadline day for a massive last minute Levy special signing as well as a couple of others, loads of behind the scenes info, and all viewed on a perfectly stable site with thousands of other Yids all as gullible, cynical, stupid, delighted, raging and well informed as me, and all enjoying it.

What a great day. Bed now. Night night you wonderful bunch of ****s.

"Worked from home" but read 24,000 Sc posts. Hehe

Maybe that's another reason why our scouting department left?

There was itk that we weren't that impressed with them.

I don't think we should complain either. We addressed the key positions that we needed to in the defensive midfield and striker positions plus got 2 more attacking players in (although I'm not convinced by them we must give them a chance under a proper manager) to give us something going forward. I'd say on the whole the squad is better than last season.

Big day for the club yesterday. Trimmed the squad but added quality, most gaps filled in this window, Levy backed the manager even though it probably hurt him to spend £30m on MS. In my opinion, we have improved, for not a massive outlay on transfer fees and not a huge uplift in wages I would imagine.

Big day for SC too. This forum in this window has just been full of people moaning, and telling us how we won't buy anyone because we won't net spend. ITK seemed to be becoming a thing of the past. To be honest, it was becoming less and less of a fun place to frequent. Yesterday though, was full of the usual moaning and bollocks, but was the most mental roller coaster ride ever. Reminded us all why we love this place. Another small donation on the way.

Well done to those that run this place. The site ran really well under extreme pressure, and was well moderated. Thanks to you all.

Thanks to all the ITKs, without you this thread is nothing. You all made this window great. Thanks of course to dovahkiin, glad my missus has no idea how much pleasure I get from a whore on the Internet.

And it's about time we all agreed, well done Daniel Levy. Smug faces on your bastard sons this morning.
