Said the same thing in the Sissoko thread. Give the guy a chance!
The Sissoko at Newcastle and the Sissoko of Spurs I think will be 2 different animals. Just give him 6-7 games to get used to the way we play. And trust Poch!(y)

Edit: Dont forget Hugo would have had his 2 bobs worth input to Poch as well!
Well he is a Spurs player now so I really hope he turns out to be a success!

Reports from the Evening Standard in the Sissoko thread saying its £6m a year for the next 5 years based on him staying at the club, but there must be some sell on clause should he leave eariler otherwise its fairly mad of Newcastle.
Just because we sold him we wouldn't stop paying? We've signed up to pay Newcastle 6m a year for 5 years. Regardless of what happens with the player now, that is what we've agreed. Sissoko could be sold in Jan for 1m, we'd still pay 6m a year for 5 years.
No Mike, there are plenty of stories around that it is a bizarre transfer in as much as we only pay that figure whilst he is here and then it is curtailed. I myself can't believe there isn't some sort of penalty clause though if we sold him in a years time.

The stories suggest we may never have to pay the full amount in reality.

There is no penalty clause, it simply means if we sell him before the 5 years, whatever amount is remaining becomes due. We still have to pay the full 30 mill (if that's what it was) regardless.

Still makes it a decent deal. He'll stay at least 2 years regardless of performance good or bad, and surely even if he doesn't work out we could recoup 12-16m for him. The balance left would be 18, and therefore we'd be on the hook for 2-4m.

Great final day in here (regardless of final opinions on the business conducted) - so many highs and lows as usual. A couple of things I would love to know:
1) Who was A&C's cryptic referring to?
2) Who was the mystery player we were negotiating for that fell through, as per info from Ali Z (a player we would be happy with)?

He's already been asked more than once but he's not saying. I suspect there weren't any solutions, he was just winding everybody up.

Thanks all for a great end to the summer transfer window. I know pics aren't usually allowed during the frenzy of TDD.

Just saw my own screenshot of this before the summer window and thought it a fitting way to end the transfer season - to look back at the objectives before and evaluate after if we achieved our aim - and I'd say they delivered didn't they?!

Or someone gave you all the answer, I rated the post as 'winner' and you all missed it.

Now it all depends on wether you want to trawl through literally thousands of posts to find out or I could say 'Blue' and 'Sissoko' to help you all out :D

If there's a word to describe being on the precipice of either crying, laughing or shitting oneself through pure rage, then that word is needed now.
