Everyone knows we needed some pace with brains. To say otherwise means we probably just failed to get our target in.

Think JJ has just depressed a load of you... pace not happening
Levy and Poch must be blind on this but we have strengthened but 100% missed a trick on the lack of pace but so be it, cant wait to hear from JJ and Hercules as to what happened here....

I think JJ means the first option ("Pace" - maybe Moura?) is a "no" so now we're trying for someone else ("Hale").

Completely agree. I always felt that objective 1 was to keep this amazingly talented young squad - which we did. I expect them to get better again this season.

Finding players to rival the first team was always going to be hard and would have cost us too much with the new stadium. The tactic has clearly been to look at promising youth and potentially pick up good older players on contracts which are running down.

I'm very happy with the window.

I don't buy into all those people who say "we finished second with these players last year"... that assumes that everyone else has stayed the same and without doubt United, City and Liverpool are stronger as are Everton

Liverpool play counter attack and rely on pace over the top. We play with build up and therefore have no room to run into. What we need is players who have fast feet and skill and can beat a player from a standing start much like Dembele, Barkley or a modric type.

I think we'll need to adjust our playing style now we've left WHL. We're going from the smallest pitch in the league to the biggest, so pace becomes more important. A Mane type player would really help us playing against the big teams who dont play with a low block.

Of course the player has to have skill and technique in addition to pace. That works in ANY system. Pace by itself we all know doesnt really help, no one here is advocating to sign Usain Bolt. The player does not have to play wide exclusively, so don't understand that comment. If we are ever gonna win anything we need our own Mane, Sanchez, Hazard type. Someone who can do the extraordinary. Or is Bale just a forgotten memory of what he was capable of doing for us on his own ?

You just named players who are all on 200k a week and are a hell of a lot more than a pacey attacker. Why not just sign messi. You are suggesting we sign world class players who have the ability to beat someone in a contested area which is what I suggested. They are not just pacey attackers.
