Mixed bag of emotions tonight, probably positive overall, but with one severe misgiving:

Very happy with all of the players we have signed in the window, but very unhappy that our midfield options continue to be thin enough for the spectre of Sissoko being picked in the matchday squad (or even, horror of horrors, in the first XI) to still hang over us.

We're stacked with quality in all positions aside from midfield: let's hope we get lucky with injuries and suspensions until January and then [promptly, with no arsing about until the end of the month] sign Barkley to properly finish the job.

I hope the lesson Levy takes from this window into the summer is not to dick around until the last minute only to trot out the 'we tried but couldn't get it done' or wait for other teams to spend their money but that in the summer we actually go out and get our targets early before the next bout of hyper inflation takes hold.

We should be identifying some key players early and going out and getting them early like we did with Modric, that turned out pretty ok...

Its true though, if you look at the Sarah deal, at the time it seemed quite a lot but by the end of the window that looks to be a bargain...

If Foyth is back up defender where's Sanchez?

Sanchez is the back up (replacing Wimmer). Foyth is a youth signing but including him in the list makes little difference. I also didn't mention Chelsea signing Zappacosta and possibly Drinkwater.

I see the BSODL are out in force.

We've signed three defenders, and a veteran striker. We were told time and time again that Poch was after a pacy attacker. Well it looks like Levy has failed to deliver the two players he really wanted, no game changer, and no pace.

The players we did sign will be fine additions, don't get me wrong. But we are still missing that spark to change games off the bench, something that the last two games have showed we are desperately lacking.

So it looks like our plan b for games will remain to be Sissoko. How many of you people criticising those that are unhappy with our window can honestly say they are happy with him being our "game changer?"

Take itk with a pinch of salt and you might be a bit happier in life.

Of course we haven't heard this from Poch or Levy. We heard it from the ITKs. If you don't believe that the ITKs are speaking from a position of knowledge as to what's happening at the Club then what's the point of listening to their pearls of information on this forum for starters? And I believe that we heard the same message from several ITKs.

How do you know whether or not to believe it without listening to it first?

The Sanchez and Foyth signings all but confirm we're going to play 3-4-2-1 more than 4-2-3-1 this season. This means we only need 6 forwards to have two for each position. We now have 5 Poch trusts there and then 4 others who can play there is needed.

You guys always get too excited by end of window ITK. It's likely we were trying and the club were excited but they're always long shots. You then convince yourselves that we're going to sign them and then get depressed when we don't. It happens every time and you still don't learn.
To be fair we were told that we were getting a lot of these things we didn't get so I can see why people got their hopes up. It sounded very much like a foregone conclusion.

I'm very happy with the majority of our business, just worried we don't have the depth of attacking options, especially in our CL. Llorente is a very good purchase however.

Sick of the pissing and moaning. Whinging about not getting signings you prob hadn't heard of a fortnight ago. This squad finished 2nd last year and we've increased our options. It's been a good solid window.

Won't be repeating that. Nothing off the bench and other sides have got their shit together.
