I completely agree we shouldn't overspend on Grealish. No way he is worth more than £25 million.

Sadly, he is worth about that. He is 22 and English with a lot of talent. He played Premier League football at 18.

You could easily get his best 8-10 footballing years and he could be an England international.

It’s 2018 and fees have gone through the roof. We maybe haven’t accepted that yet.

If we fail to sign anybody because weve focused all our energy on this deal then yes it will be down to the club

Well we know Grealish was not first choice. We know at the beginning Levy was an idiot and didn't just pay £25m. And we know that towards the end Villa were complete assholes and changed the terms after they were agreed in principle.

All in all, not too bothered. I actually hope the FFP catches up with them and they are docked points etc.

On to the next target. I refuse to believe we will not sign 1 player.

And by the club I am assuming you mean Villa who by all accounts have been the ones moving the goal posts and going back on their word to JG.

Enough excuses - turned out Barkley wasn't first choice either when he decided to go to Chelsea.

I was happy with the promote from the academy when we were a mid table team. We are now a regular top 4 team and therefore proper investment is needed in quality players to stay there. Arsenal and Chelsea are in disarray at the moment and now was the time to really kick on backed by extra revenue from the new stadium.

Shame DL has to date failed to secure naming rights on the new stadium to assist with the stadium financing. thing might then be different in financing the playing side rather than panicking to buy a Championship player

Seriously ? Like you honestly think there is just this big Spurs piggy bank where the funding for all the multi million pound projects all sits together and you basically dip into the one pot to finance everything ?

Earlier in the week I mentioned that maybe it wasnt DL who didnt want to spend, I was also told that MP wants to promote/use more of the youth….

I can believe that to a degree. Levy says the same thing in poch’s book. Doesn’t excuse levy not getting the players Poch wanted in though if they were attainable.

I suspect DL is now in mass panic though and will be offering Poch all sorts of players. The manager might fancy a couple. We will have to wait and see.
