I'm in a similar situation.

Not sure whether to avoid all news/SC until 5pm and be disappointed.

Or sneakily check my phone at work every 5 minutes until 5pm and be disappointed.

The disappointment is part of why we keep coming back so I say wallow in the joy and misery of it all. Whatever happens our Spurs are back this weekend. Enjoy (I hope). Could be exciting according to the ITK although I’m sceptical that they’ll be exciting names but then again sometimes they don’t pay off anyway.

9 hours to go. Best case I see Grealish signing and Dele,Eriksen deal announced. Worst case- no signing and Dele , Eriksen deal announced
Not expecting anymore than Grealish either and I don't have an actual expectation of that either as per Trix and the other ITK. I must say though that I've gone from being underwhelmed over the idea of Grealish to really feeling like we will miss an opportunity if we don't sign him.

Low expectations. If as like many transfer windows Levy is hoping for bargains to appear at the death it is really no way to be 'brave' and deliver for the manager.

Hoping we can get Grealish and that Poch really does want him and sees him as immediate first team material.

TA, Rose and Demble out would be good outs with Martial (lol) and ndombele (a decent n') coming in would be a successful window for me.

Not sure now. His people are still hopeful but it's now a waiting game as far as they are concerned. Agent wants him to exert more pressure Jack has been reluctant to do so. Desperately wants to move, but he and his entire family are Villa fans, most of them season ticket holders. It's very delicately balanced to say the least.

Am hearing similar to Breezer that we'd still like up to 3, but Grealish apart I can only see them being revisited players/back up's to back up's, or more likely opportunistic buys. There are certainly some decent ones being pushed around by agents though so hopefully that is the way we end up going. Toby looking less likely to stay in England which (IMO) would almost certainly rule out Martial coming the other way. But if both clubs become desperate late on then who knows.........l.

I don't expect to hear too much today, as my guys are usually flat out busy on deadline day. Obviously if I do get anything I will update.
finished.

Good luck and hope you all make it through to the other sidel.

So there's a very good chance we will come out of this window without signing any of our original targets, instead being forced to buy back ups or back ups of back ups? Poch can't be happy with this and neither should the fans.

Thanks for the info Trix, as always.

Here’s hoping! If we don’t get 2 in I’m going to pretend Skipp and Amos were our big summer signings anyway

To do is to dare!!!

Thanks Trix and to all the other ITKs for the updates this window.

The window shuts at 4am Melbourne time. Going to be a restless night.

We have the ITK ticker, but some on here may need more today. Perhaps we need to add numbers for the Samaritans and the Irish Priest chat line.

Don't do it, it's just @Dougal doing his father ted impression and then you get a phone bill for £450.

0810, and I've already checked this thread about 19 times.

Not even sure why. It's led to nothing but anxiety and pain this summer.

It's a sort of self flagellation.

Thanks Trix and Journo, sounds like we need Bruce and Grealish's agent to try and talk the owners around on selling his best player. Plus Levy to improve his bid. Getting Berahino vibes here.

Would be absolutely stunned with 2-3 in the way this window has gone. Let's hope for a load of luck and Levy to excel himself!

Sorry to be Mr Sensible but most people agree that our 1st 11 are capable of beating anyone, they are all a year older and almost all had a very good WC. To improve our 1st 11 it's going to cost more than we would sell them for, even Ben Davies is a £40m player in today's market.

I've no doubt we will sign players today but I expect them to be young and unproven rather than 1st team superstars, we're not going to drop £70m on one player. Max £50-£60m for Zaha or Martial (with Toby going the other way for the latter). Lower your expectations, enjoy the ride that is the madness of Transfer Window Day and apply liberal salt to ITK and lots of bucketloads more on Talkshite and Sky sources.

TW day is much more entertaining if you expect nothing and enjoy the ride, fwiw I think we'll get in at least 2 and they will be young with bags of potential

Thanks to the mods and ITK for keeping it going. The transfer windows are a real highlight for me on SC (thanks A&C). I've been watching this place grow and evolve for 14 years and have to say it's got to be my most visited site and almost a reason in itself to be a Spurs fan, so hats off to Rob and the crew.

Looking forward to the drama, not terribly worried if we don't sign, believe there are "weaknesses" in the squad, but would like them solved with quality not quantity. Here's hoping.

Nice start to the day with the @Trix amd Journalist info - the only slightly worrying point is the back up to the back ups bit - feel like we’ve been there before! Hopefully the opportunistic ones are where we end up!
