Sorry to be Mr Sensible but most people agree that our 1st 11 are capable of beating anyone, they are all a year older and almost all had a very good WC. To improve our 1st 11 it's going to cost more than we would sell them for, even Ben Davies is a £40m player in today's market.

I've no doubt we will sign players today but I expect them to be young and unproven rather than 1st team superstars, we're not going to drop £70m on one player. Max £50-£60m for Zaha or Martial (with Toby going the other way for the latter). Lower your expectations, enjoy the ride that is the madness of Transfer Window Day and apply liberal salt to ITK and lots of bucketloads more on Talkshite and Sky sources.

TW day is much more entertaining if you expect nothing and enjoy the ride, fwiw I think we'll get in at least 2 and they will be young with bags of potential

Like seeing Journalist's info, hope it can be resolved, probably by JG and a transfer request.

The ITK has suggested a couple of additions have been worked on for a while and if we can perceive weaknesses in the squad then I bet Poch can too.


(I know A&C said it was unlikely to get locked, but can we please leave meltdowns till layer as some of us are in a tent on the side of Cairngorm hoping our phones last the day on ultra power-saving mode...)

Toby going abroad would be a win, in my opinion. Don't believe Martial was ever anything more than a pipe dream, so to keep Toby out of Man Utd is great news.

I agree it may be win in some respects, but with no replacement it still weakens the squad, and if he goes abroad it would likely be after today so we can't even use the funds to strengthen. Although I do appreciate the need for him to go, and wouldn't want to strengthen a rival. I just wish we had the balls to invest without having to wait for him to be sold.

Don't expect anything today at all. It's all very well moaning at the new owners of Villa saying they don't understand this or that, but if we had been more decisive it's clear he would have been our player by now.

Don't like the idea of some 3 or 4th choice punts again, no doubt putting us in the same position in future windows when we realise they won't cut the mustard. At the same time I don't like the idea of key players leaving without being replaced and with a squad knackered after the world cup.

Basically this window is a total clusterfuck and a has become a lose-lose situation imo.

Not entirely sure, I presume he would be included in the two signings. I guess it depends on who the four outs are though, and how they are replaced.

Itk at least indicates something may happen today albeit not the worldie we’re all hoping for. At least after today a huge number of people can get back to their lives. Personally very interested in the grealish story and how far he’ll push it today.
