Earlier in the week I mentioned that maybe it wasnt DL who didnt want to spend, I was also told that MP wants to promote/use more of the youth….

Poch made it very clear back in May that we needed to bring new players in to mprove the squad. If he is not wanting to spend money at this stage it's presumably because he doesn't want the players he is being offered, I really can't see him turning up his nose at any of his targets.

complete lack of ambition when we're in the best position to push on and cement ourselves amongst the big boys for over a decade . nothing more to be said. the change in mood from the early optimistic itk through the days/weeks has been damning.

gearing up for the 5pm meltdown.........

*await the positive ITK around 13:00, followed by a negative at around 14:30.

*Around 16:00 news will come through about potential for Martial.

* window close and we haven’t signed anyone.. but at least we tried.
? Like clockwork every year.. Fucking depressing..

Still, at least the misses will get a new toaster out of it

All we need now is for Kane to be injured and Llorente to lead the line as we open the new stadium

It's very easy to imagine a scenario in which MP would come to this conclusion if he couldn't get the players in that he wanted.

From a PR perspective whether it’s up to the manager or owner or whomever, I don’t think this helps increase buzz. I’m honestly shocked they wouldn’t sign anyone to bump the sell of the PSL’s. I’ve truly never seen a sports organization never sign new talent when moving as they look to brand new face with new movement.

With that said thanking all the ITK for an interesting summer. Thanks to Rob and co for keeping this puppy humming. I think this is the first window nothing crashed or slowed down.

Word in the construction market down under is Spurs didn’t do the stadium on a fixed price basis and it is running seriously over budget. It is hard to rationalise any other reason for this TW.

I like what you've done there!!
A club's major assets should be there on the pitch for everybody to see....the fact we appear to be unwilling/incapable of making a signing that improves our starting 11 means we are asking Poch to squeeze yet another 5% out of this squad which is a tall ask imo

Of course they will if the money is right.
Contracts mean nothing nothing these days in terms of players being sold. They give the player a pay rise and the club a longer contract length that should translate into protection of the transfer value.

And when Barca/Real/Bayern come in with a £75+ million offer for Eriksen next week ???

Fuck it, I’ve ignored my missus for the past 5 days while I’ve been obsessing with you lot on this site. I’m going down to the beach where she’s trotted without me. I’ll check in occasionally for a laugh at the lunatics while sipping my bear with my feet in the sand and the sun on my back. It’s been real!:p

Don't rush back, mate.

Of course he does...he has no choice now

His comments about not being relaxed about the window and being unsure if we’d sign players didn’t sound like a man keen to rely exclusively on youth incomings.

Unless we’ve been keeping the next coming of the class of 92 under wraps no sane top 6 manager would *elect* not to make signings when competing against the likes of City, United, Liverpool and Chelsea. It’s just implausible.

Yeah especially from Breezer but I still just can’t see Levy signing absolutely no one, maybe I’m just deluded.

If we don’t sign anyone though it will take A LOT of explaining tbh, I’m not in the “our squad is good enough” camp, you have to keep improving.
I feel quite fed up. BRB.

Some of you guys do realise that it's not impossible that poch has said I want players from this list or don't bother ?
I'm neither a bsodl or a naysayer but it's been a thought in my mind for a few weeks now.
I reckon with poch it's this or nowt I'll promote from our expansive academy.

I can hardly see this being his preferred plan of action, more likely it got to a week ago and Levy went - we've 'tried' but can't do a deal for A,B and C...but we can get you Sissoko MKII on deadline day....

And Mauricio went, might as well promote someone from the U23s to a squad place instead...

If that's the case then I'll be happy. If those two are on the same page it's really some of the most positive news.
