None of you would've defended no players coming in at the start of the window. It's basically Stockholm Syndrome.

I would rather sign nobody than swap Toby for Martial.

I would rather sign nobody than sign Grealish and sell Dembele.

I would rather sign nobody than sell Danny Rose and sign Luke Shaw.

Fuck it, I’ve ignored my missus for the past 5 days while I’ve been obsessing with you lot on this site. I’m going down to the beach where she’s trotted without me. I’ll check in occasionally for a laugh at the lunatics while sipping my bear with my feet in the sand and the sun on my back. It’s been real!:p
Don't forget your armbands.

I still think we’ll sign 2. Some sense will prevail and a couple of minor log jams will be relieved.

We'll win fuck all. We fell short at the end of last season. We needed to add to our first team/squad

I was an early dissenter. I know this is a shit window, but what can you do. Without hope what else we got. Don't lose that mate.

I can't think of another year where the time was more "now" than any other. It's all unbelievably short-sighted in my humble opinion.

Pretty sure ITK earlier in the window mentioning our top players agreeing in principle to new contracts - I am pretty certain there was talk that Eriksen in particular wanted reassurances of Poch signing and staying, and to see ambition within the club whether that was statements of intent through signings or trophies...

Thanks for the update @Breezer, that's a shame and not exactly what we wanted to hear unfortunately but together we must remain behind the players we do have! COYS

Just waiting for us to make a big money, last minute move for someone we know we've got no chance of getting. My money is on Zaha

We’re selling Toby anyway- abroad. Which means no player swap or replacement. That’s not great

I would be surprised if there is anyone left on here now that can't see how badly we've fucked this up

And if there is you need sectioning under the mental health act

Some of the defences I've seen of Foghorn Leghorn are quite astonishing but save it until 5pm, if this thread turns into a Levy bashing contest and creates work for me I'll tag on the banning as a labour of love. FFS.

Or maybe the retention of our top players?

Levy is playing a dangerous game. If we have an under-par season the vultures will be circling around Pochettino, Eriksen, and Dele. If I'm going to find one positive in having no incomings it's that surely this means we have assets in the academy deemed good enough to take the next step - and no incomings also means no N'panic buys.

Regardless of that there is no escaping that this TW has been one huge failure for Levy and the board. I personally am still excited for the season and I'm sure the new stadium will be buzzing versus Liverpool. But I'm still surprised that, Levy a brilliant businessman, fails to recognize that this TW in itself was a brilliant business opportunity to kick-start an new era for the club filled with expectation and belief. After all economics at a grand level has more to do with human action, anticipation and expectation than crunching the numbers.

Levy is playing a dangerous game here. Relying on the faith of fans in Poch.

If we get off to a poor start with our threadbare and half fit squad we could go into the new stadium with an already sour atmosphere, which could be catastrophic...

(Written after reading page 8 so if we've signed 2 players since then. Yay!)

Earlier in the week I mentioned that maybe it wasnt DL who didnt want to spend, I was also told that MP wants to promote/use more of the youth….
Its almost like when myself and others presented quotes from Poch saying that he only wanted to buy if it would improve the starting 11...that otherwise use youth ... it’s almost like that was correct.

@BringBack_leGin - I agree, screw those whores if they want to deal at obscene prices. By not buying it will help normalise the market and strengthen our bargaining position going forward.

Play the kids !

(And buy one cm ?)
