On our way to our 2 week holiday on Saturday, our car broke down on the French motorway. Me, my wife and 2 kids then spent 2 hours waiting for a tow truck and then 3 hours in a garage waiting for a new hire car. Then having got a new hire car, and having driven for 2 hours, the hire car then broke down. Waited another three hours before the tow truck came to take us to his garage. Then we waited for another three hours for the insurance to get us a hotel and a cab. Then spent 5 hours next morning arguing with the insurance to get us a new hire car for the next 2 weeks. Still no idea where my actual car is or if it's getting fixed.

That feels like this transfer window. But less stressful.

I know this will fall on deaf ears but there's going to be so many twists and turns today, they'll be more ITK later saying we've gone back with a final bid for Grealish, for all we know this was leaked just to make Villa sweat and force Jack to throw his toys out of the pram.

As the admins keep saying, save the meltdowns until 5.01pm.

This is really more of an ITK whinging thread than a discussion thread.

I'm just going to scan the threads for blue from now on

Like dealing with grief, I'm already on acceptance, I accept we'll sign no-one. I just wanna see us keep Alderweireld or at least keep him away from United.

Did you read any of this mornigns ITK as to why it has not ?
Personally I would also go back on the terms if I'm the new owner coming in because I no longer need to sell the player at that price. They want round 30m apparently so we should pay that, it's our fault anyway for not getting it done when they were in a financial mess.

Regarding Grealish, I understand the deal was agreed in principle and Levy wanted to wait to see if we could get better targets, I get that and don't blame him. What I don't understand is why he put a bid in with one day lefty in the window, knowing Villa had new owners. Surely as soon as the takeover was announced he should have sent out some feelers to see if the deal was still applicable. I'm no Cambridge educated business man but I would of done that

Seriously ? Like you honestly think there is just this big Spurs piggy bank where the funding for all the multi million pound projects all sits together and you basically dip into the one pot to finance everything ?

Did I say that. Naming rights are big money, we don't have it as yet.
I remember the stadium being talked up be Levy years ago when a figure of £400m was mentioned. Delay and ditheringfor years has cost Levy/Lewis up to £500m in stadium costs.

Just a wild guess but i reckon the club probably has more than one person capable of working on more than one deal at any one time

Im sure they have someone capable working on multiple deals, but the way this window has gone it certainly doesn't inspire me with any confidence that something will come to fruition, bearing in mind that our long term public target has failed in the LAST HOURS of the window of all the times to collapse

*tenterhooks*

A tenter was a frame for stretching cloth, the cloth being pulled tight across the frame on hooks – hence in a state of suspense. You're welcome.
Like a tent. Tense in here too.

I can believe that to a degree. Levy says the same thing in poch’s book. Doesn’t excuse levy not getting the players Poch wanted in though if they were attainable.

I suspect DL is now in mass panic though and will be offering Poch all sorts of players. The manager might fancy a couple. We will have to wait and see.

I bet Levy and Poch are sifting through youtube compilations as we speak.

So it seems Moura really was a signing for this season.

Not being pedantic here, but Poch himself he did say he want some players in the Jan window so they are ready from the get go for the next season. So he is kind of a new signing us for us in that regard.

Professional footballer with contract with club, attends training with club

#LevyOut

It wasn't a criticism of Levy on that occasion, more of highlighting the point that he is not going to kick up a fuss at his boyhood club who he plays for and supports. Which is what his behavior is highlighting.

And rightly so.
