Judging by all your reactions, I guess you can't have faith much faith in our manager when you consider the players he has available. I mean, if this season is going to be awful when you have some of the league's best players in every position on the pitch (the leagues best player in at least two) then the manager clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

We better get that Eriksen announcement soon, otherwise he'll be 100% off next year with only a year left.

Agree with a post above. Pathetic window and pathetic ambition. The TOP 6 is going to be difficult let alone the top 4.

Levy should be simply embarrassed with himself and the huge missed opportunity.

The youth line which has suddenly been trotted out makes me think the money really isn’t there for signing.

Have you never seen friendlies before? Youth filled teams and squads are the norm, especially when a fair few players are still on break.

"I am happy to keep all the squad together, there were many rumours during the summer about players out," the Spurs boss said.
"The club made a massive effort to try and extend contracts of Harry Kane, just one example. The club is trying to finish the stadium as soon as possible.
"It is difficult to understand for people in football that Tottenham didn’t sign or didn’t sell players but sometimes in football, you need to behave different.
"We are happy with our squad and we cannot improve our squad. It is better to keep our squad all together, we believe a lot in our players."

There you go...Poch is as happy as Larry!
We came third and didn't win anything, but we cannot improve the squad. Right.

Staggering how the youth are now going to be the saviours.this is the same youths that haven't had a look in for the past 3 seasons due to such poor management and any regular youth followers will tell you we've lost plenty of our better prospects because of it.but now we going to give them a chance ?

Talk of the naming rights falling through may be the reason for this situation... but hopefully the Toby situation can be resolved for some benefit.

Aren't you supposed to be on the beach with your wife?

Ego is a powerful thing. Most very successful people have huge egos, but sometimes those egos get too big and get those people in trouble. Herc's latest bit tells me Levy has simply let his ego get in the way this summer and therefore let his coach down. He continues to think he can negotiate these tremendous deals both buying and selling, but the market has totally changed. He for some reason thinks the obvious market changes won't apply to him or that he can get around them.

I think I knew things were on the wrong track after there was no news after the World Cup. My guess is their plan was that they would just wear clubs down and that they would buckle and Spurs would get great players on the cheap. Clubs don't buckle anymore because of all the TV money, so it's a stupid plan. If you want someone, go get them if it fits your budget. Don't go after players that are out of your budget thinking you can pay a lot less than at what their team values them. It doesn't happen anymore.

Perhaps this failure will teach Levy a "lesson" but supposedly that has happened in past windows so I am doubtful.

Youth aren't going to win us the league. They aren't going to play in the champions league and win that either. They need time to establish themselves. We should have brought them through last season and the season before instead signing crap. Now we need to push on and we're only just deciding to give them a crack? It's so disappointing

The only thing to make this day even worse is a Toby to Utd deadline deal...

(although it is quiet on that front too it seems)

I doubt the youth will play that much unless we shift a load of deadwood abroad tbh

Poch sold down the river it seems after being given assurances on funds available when he signed his contract extension.

Don't give me this bollocks that we can't improve this squad - just not having it!

He does know what he's doing but remember that we looked pretty ordinary at times last season when teams didn't give us the space.
