Stop what? Asking rational, intelligent grown people to offer rational, intelligent comments in a discussion forum based on their expert knowledge of the inner workings of THFC, the transfer window and highly complex 8 figure business deals?

All I want is for people who seem to know better to display that they know better. I don't think that that's too much to ask.

And as with everything the ITK say, positive or negative, isn't it actually in the rules of this forum and this thread that it's taken with a pinch of salt?

Feel the temperature of the room mate. Let people have their moment. The time for rational discussion is not the last 3 hours of the worst transfer window in most of our Spurs supporting lives. Its not personal so just back off a bit.

Who’s talking about the money ? I’m not. I’m talking about the player. If you can’t sign the player that will truly improve the team then I don’t want us signing poor imitations.
I do apologise, in that case I agree entirely.. I'm a little fired up at the minute ?

Bar maybe Grealish, I don’t think we were ever seriously in for any of those ‘expansive’ players. We have had no strategy or idea what we are doing in this window.

So we’ve gone from being in serious negotiations for martial £65m, Zaha £70m & Grealish at £25m to looking at players valued at £15...that makes total sense to me, great work Levy!

This smacks in the face of Poch saying stuff to keep the fans quiet because of the in Poch we trust effect.

He says what he has to say to be fair. Can't go out and say the squad isn't good enough, would be disastrous to the players we do have. Don't need any Mourinho-style-slaughtering of the team. Of course it's a BS company line, we all know that, but don't see any honest positioning or statements helping us really.

What do 8/9 of those guys losing in semifinals teach us about losing in semifinals, they've all already lost 2 here at Spurs? Not like we played Lloris in our own semi final anyways.

Sure. Playing in latter stages of the greatest football competition teaches footballers nothing. :)

Lay off mate. People are rightfully pissed, posting this shit at this time helps no one, if anything it actually makes people more angry

Why? Just ignore it if you don’t agree with it or tell him why he’s wrong. If you get angry at someone politely putting across their view that’s not their problem.

Would people be happy with a last hour Toby/ Martial swap? I mean I would, but leaves us 1 cb injury away from peoblems at the back.

I'm just trying to clutch on any last bits of hope before I pop to the shops and get a toaster

If Toby not sold today, he will not be available. Apparently settled his diffeowoth Poch and club.
Let’s see
If this is true, I would consider this as a new signing - for me Toby in our starting line up makes us the most formidable defence in the league. Sanchez just gives you that feeling that he is one wrong step away from a calamity.

Even Levy isn’t silly enough to flog Toby at this point. Getting away with that would rely on every fan being as forelock tugging as BBLG

If Toby not sold today, he will not be available. Apparently settled his differences with Poch and club. Let’s see...

Hopefully that means that he'll be played and maybe even sign a deal at some point if Pochettino has forgiven him enough to allow it. Only shame is, I was really looking forward to @Trix revealing what Toby had done!

(that's a joke).

If we had a fully fit squad, this would be more understandable, but we don't. Unless I missed a bulletin we're going to be short in midfield heading into the season.

I know we have a good first 13/14 when all are fit, but this is such a strange position to be in. To really make no signings - even at the expense of increasing our vulnerability to non-PL buyers over the next few weeks - suggests that Pochettino etc have either more faith in our squad than most, an absolute lack of faith in there being value in the market, or literally nothing we went for came off, including getting reliable interest in shipping out the unregistered players.

I've been optimistic all window but this is just genuinely bizarre.

I think this early end to the window is killing Levy's strategy of not buying until he has sold some to make up the difference. Foreign teams are sitting back and waiting until the English transfer window is over so they can then get better deals on the surplus players.

Just seems like Levy won't take a leap of faith that he will be able to ditch some salaries so he won't really pull the trigger on any signings.
