I think this season will truly shine a light on how much a young squad with no ins and outs can improve year on year. Absolutely no part of the club barring where we'll be playing has changed.

But every club around us has changed, and every one of them is stronger for it.

We're not the only club in the league. Jesus.

He says what he has to say to be fair. Can't go out and say the squad isn't good enough, would be disastrous to the players we do have. Don't need any Mourinho-style-slaughtering of the team. Of course it's a BS company line, we all know that, but don't see any honest positioning or statements helping us really.
I agree. Poch has been a brilliant foil for Teflon Levy. Sometimes I wish Poch would say it as it is ( A little earlier though).

If Toby not sold today, he will not be available. Apparently settled his differences with Poch and club. Let’s see...

Now that is good news!!

If we sell to United now, given the huge disappointment so far, levy will get absolute dogs abuse lol

Probably wrong but that sounds like a possible deal with Utd and Martial otherwise how would we let him go without bringing someone else in

So Toby will just be here for another season or at least until Christmas? ...

Nope, still not picking up. Still the same shit show for me.

And will probably go to one of United/Chelsea/City or god forbid Liverpool/Arsenal for about £28m next summer, or whatever the release clause is.

Well we're about to find out whether big changes vs no changes is key. After all every summer the teams around keep making big changes and yet we still end-up either beating them or being around them.

Feel the temperature of the room mate. Let people have their moment. The time for rational discussion is not the last 3 hours of the worst transfer window in most of our Spurs supporting lives. Its not personal so just back off a bit.
Wait, in a room full of people losing their shit, I, one of the posters choosing to remain calm, need to back off? Oh the irony..

It just means he extends his time here for [x] amount of months.

"We must stop jumping the gun and critcising Levy, wait and see what happens by the end of the window. If we haven't signed anyone by the end of the window then we'll all be sticking the boot in on Levy"

~ people who are now predictably defending Levy like they have done all bastard window

How on earth does losing a player whose dug his own grave and made his position untenable and replacing him with a shit hot and much younger player make us weaker? Are you high?

Toby is better than Martial in their relative positions.
We are thinner in numbers in CB than WF.
Toby's replacement is Foyth, Martial's "replacement" is Son.
Toby is a proven top 3 PL defender, Martial is a good work in progress.
"Much younger" isn't particularly relevant when Toby is only a 29 year old CB.
We splash 20-50m cash that is 20-50m less we can spend on another player (a full Grealish for example). Grealish and Toby or just Martial?

But Martial will be a SIGNING FUCK YEAH WOO  who cares about the repercussions

You guys are all going to feel stupid this season. We are GOOD, it is hard to add quality. If we keep our players I expect us to compete for the league.

We could, and should have added quality. There are many players who would have made us better but I'm with you brother on the support part, Fuck it. We're signing no one, so we might as well get over it and support the team. We can do this despite the chairman. COYS

Remains to be seen. Just because they've signed players it doesnt have to mean they will be stronger. Look at Morata. Big money move and they were better off with sulking Diego Costa (so far)

Clearly disappointing not to strengthen, and I get that we might need to sell to buy.. Question then is why haven't we sold? We're not exactly lacking players we want to get rid of - this has to be Tarzan's biggest failing this window!

I seem to recall ITK earlier in the window suggesting that we want 2018 prices for players we sell and 2015 prices for players we want to buy - net effect 0 in 0 out.

Seems obvious?

We've basically signed Wanyama, Alderweireld, Lamela, Moura, Rose and Winks for next season.

"It's difficult to understand for people that Tottenham didn't sign or sell players, but sometimes in football you need to behave differently. If we are happy with our squad and cannot improve it, sometimes it's better to keep our squad together."
No we haven’t. Half of those are just a big an injury liability this season as they were last season.

Last season Poch repeatedly played the likes of Sissoko and an out of form Aurier over our highly rated academy prospects but now all of a sudden the youth are the answer to all our problems. As others have said, it's clearly out of necessity not choice. I would have no issue at all if Poch had looked at the young players in our academy and decided that we didn't need any signings due to the quality coming through, but that is clearly not the case as we have been chasing signings all summer. Just very, very ineffectively.
