I think increasing some of their wages by considerable amounts shows ambition. I think moving them into a brand spanking new state of the art stadium shows ambition.

Ambition isn't just buying players. Would it have been great to bring in new, impressive players, yes but to say we don't show any ambition is hyperbole.
Higher wages was an absolute necessity to keep them at the club. That's not ambition.

I’m really not that disappointed that we didn’t sign anyone, fuck what every other team thinks. We still got a better squad and manager than most. Can’t wait for our players to show it.

It's little things like going cheap on targets.. Janssen was the cheap alternative to Batshuayi, then we had to buy Llorente to make up for that fuck up.. End of it we spent the same amount of money we wouldn't do for Bats. Same thing happened with Nkoudou, Njie, finally just bought Lucas for decent money. There are players out there who can provide depth that don't cost 100 mil.

On Bats he said he didn't want to come and be backup to Kane (wassisname at Chelsea said the same thing I think)

This is part of the issue either players we're looking at don't believe they're capable of ousting a player currently in their position (do we want a player who is mentally that weak?) or do we sign average players who are happy to be a bit part? So we sign/promote promising youth?
The market is fucked at the moment that means either over pay for someone who's just happy to be here, or pay way over for a youth who may totally fall flat or may soar (I don't think currently we are able to take as many punts)

The Njie, Nkoudou and Sissoko signings have never made sense to me (I'm not going to bash any of them I just have never understood what our M.O was with those other than that they were punts)

Question who is to blame for our HG quota and how do we fix it?

I mean we had half the England first team at the World Cup yet somehow we're foul of HG players?

I still don't get why we agreed to close the window early, fine if the rest of Europe was doing likewise but makes zero sense else.\

Anyway thanks @Archibald&Crooks and his merry men for this window, COYS!

For what it's worth I think we still owe you one cryptic solution.

Play it again Sam
From Casablanca
White House in Spanish
The White House is in Washington DC
District of Columbia
Barrio is the Spanish word for a neighbourhood or district
Barrios of Colombia

It obviously fell through but we were interested in him.
Originally gave this a wtf rating, but then reading that you didn't want to reveal the name it's actually pretty smart in its difficulty.

Why are the only options mentally weak players or those who are happy to play a bit part? How about great players who compete with Eriksen, Son, Kane, whoever.

I swear that some peoole think our first team is made up of undroppable world class superstars. We've won nothing!

The only real player we seemed to be after was grealish who would have been a squad player.

This suggests to me that perhaps poch may be happy with some of the youth to fill the gaps in other areas of the pitch.

Im as disappointed as the nextman, especially seeing clubs like everton really spend big bucks. But we have the biggest thing that the majority of these other clubs dont have which is a solid foundation from years playing with eachother and unity amongst our team.

We did not improve that shows a lack of ambition. Or do you think we can challenge for the league/cl without improving?
I was merely combatting the notion that as a club we arent showing any ambition in any sense is nonsense.

One thing I have been wondering about the last few days is if Levy was fully focused on transfers this summer or if he had become pre occupied on the new stadium.

We had been finishing above City - then they sorted their weaknesses out and clicked

Liverpool have gone a long way to solving this big weaknesses just by signing a competent keeper

We haven’t addressed any of ours

We'll have a proper home advantage for a start, how's that son?

If he can't balance the stadium and literally anything else, then he needs to resign.

Honestly I agree with most of this, my attitude has changed to not working about what other teams or their fans or even pundits think about us, it's honestly not worth wasting mental bandwidth over, I'd rather use it to back ourselves.

Works for Poch.

That's not to say I think this window has been handled well, far from it. At least DL didn't buy players over Poch's head or land a surprise signing in his lap (from tales I've heard anyway)

This Squad was good enough to get to 3rd place at the World Cup under Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez. With respect I rate Poch higher than those two.

That type of ambition doesn't win things though - Buying better players in positions we are weak in has more potential to win. That is where the difference of ambition lies though - Levy see's a different ambition to that of the fans. There are many on here and Spurs fans, in general, that think that having a bigger stadium will automatically give us the ability to get better players by being able to pay them more, it won't - consequently, ENIC see the stadium as a business opportunity that they have developed to sell, along with the club. Ambition can mean different things to different people, just a shame ENIC are not singing from the same hymn sheet that the fans are...

I think delegate rather than resign. A team of people playing to their individual strengths. The Baldini comments were interesting earlier. Not to pick the players but to close the deals.

I was using a bit of hyperbole as I don't think what was posted was the case.
