Rafa's positioning makes up for his lack of pace, Sigurdsson isn't a quality player that will take us up to a higher level.

If Sigurdsson was a quality player then CL clubs would be all over him.

Sig is a quality player, and been around few years so easy to forget he's just 22 years old. Sure he is not the finished product yet, but he will be in a few years.
Still believe that for his age/price/talent you dont get a much better deal than this.

And unless Spurs receive some big investments for transfer funds, this is the sort of deal we need to be doing if we're gonna strengthen the whole squad. We still need a couple strikers, and they are always so expensive!

Yeah, like they were all over Rafa for £8m. Or Modric when we signed him. Or Berbatov when we signed him.

Rafa was £8mill as Madrid didn't see us as a threat, If a CL club came in for him then his price would of been much higher and Rafa was surplus to requirements at Madrid.

Modric was un-proven and nobody wanted to spend £16mill on a midfielder that was very small and somebody that people felt that wouldn't adapt to the Premier League, Berbatov is completely different; Proved himself fully in germany and in the champions league, If Sigurdsson was so good in Germany then why did his club put him out on loan? It doesn't make sense,

Wasn't he player of the year in his first season there? I thought the reason he went to Swansea was because Hoffenheim changed managers and the new guy didn't want him?

He was a failure at Hoffenheim IMO. He did make player of the year, something I only just found out today when I looked it up, but even so, he wasn't even first choice and only started 13 games.

The manager who sent him out on loan is different to the manager currently in charge, meaning of the three managers at Hoffenheim, only one saw a little bit of something in him..

Oh, and btw, the current manager at Hoffenheim is Marcus Babbel (who I rate quite highly as a manager, will be back in the prem within 10 years I reckon). Not that he'll get much of a say where the players goes, but I reckon he'd rather Sigursson go 'pool.

Anyway, that being said, Sigursson had a good half season at Swansea, he will improve our team. Will challenge the starting XI. Always good to have competition.

p.s. sorry if this is OT. But I didn't know if I should post this in the player thread when replying to a post here? I'm new here so give a guy a break, ay? ;)

Sorry, but could someone please summerise the "pen" ITK.
Thanks in advance.
Rebrab says it's an obvious one, so it's one of:
Vertonghen (was known as B-e-r-y-l on here for a while and Berol make pens)
Blanc - Mont Blanc is an expensive make of pen.

i dont care what people say about sigurdsson tbh. whether they rate him or not the lad scores goals from midfield, is flexible and can play across midfield and is not afraid to shoot which all our midfielders bar bale are.

we lost kranjcar, we will probably lose pienaar, gio, bently and jenas. thank god is my opinion as none of these offer anything.

this is a squad game. we got found out last season cos we were short of class and a proper squad. bring it on. he can get some vital goals for us, he has a knack for it and if u look at his record his assists and goals are top notch.

So, Rebrab going against the grain with Blanc then? Interesting, I've never found his ITK very convincing, so if he calls this right he could be up there with the big-hitters....

His ITK is very good in fact. just used sparingly

Yes but as he may be playing for your second team coming from your first team you can't love him as muchas you did when he played for your first team. So say love him half as much, plus you should have some bad feelings that he has left your first team.

He will be that fat bird you screwed when your were pissed you loved it at the time but knew is was wrong and then in the morning you had the guilt and repulsion. It will be a very confusing time for you.

And he whip in those set pieces and crosses like its the easiest thing in the world. (But lets be honest here, lot of players seems to lose this attribute when they join Spurs for some reason lol)

The Pen ITK cannot be Vertonghen. If you're going to use cryptic, you have at least got to make sure it fits with the answer. Whilst Berol is a brand of pen and sounds simular, it isnt B-e-r-y-l.

Its either Blanc as new manager, or Parker signing an improved contract.

I wonder if the investment talk is where the talk of Guardiola is coming in. I can't see us getting him as manager but may-be he's been acting as an adviser for the other party involved - a few people have already mentioned he has links to some of the big money players.

One thing is for sure though, if its just Parker improving his contract then that have to be the most underwhelming piece of ITK to date;)
