I
Mate, in an ideal world all transfers would be done in the first two weeks but that's not how it works. None have the other big teams have moved big yet except Liverpool and their recruitment strategy is as scatter-gun as ours has been in the last few years.
i understand we dont live in an ideal world but i disagree i think lpool over the last few years have been more decisive whether successful of not which lets face it all player buys are a gamble to a point.

If we don't sign any more players I would be fine with it. We were the fifth best team last season, I say go for Scneiderlin and one or two top targets (like martial) and if we don't get them - save the money and give the likes of pritchard, onomah etc the chance. Most likely They will be as good as our plan c, D, e, etc. And if those were to become star players They wouldn't leave as easy as others would.

Sure. This strategy has shown to be extremely effective so far.
Using Ryan Mason rather than buying from outside has meant we now have a central midfielder worth 2 or even 3 million quid for an outlay of nil. ;)

Point is we don't need squadplayers - we need stars!

And I think we have a better chance of the title or top 4 in 3-5 years time When our own youth have a couple of years under their belt... And They won't get that experience if we keep bringing in capoues and stamboulis....

But I fear from the ITK we have received that plan C and D will be nothing better Than we already have.

I'm confident they will be better than a striker who can't score for toffee in the PL and another who is hated and routinely booed by a large proportion of Spurs fans.

Mason has been better for us than Paulinho, Capoue and Stambouli, who cost a combined total of about 30m.

Do people on here not appreciate the benefits of being dynamic and decisive with your targets? Do you not see value in getting said players into and gelling with their teammates and the manager and staff as early possible?

Whether teams do some additional business late or not is not the point really a lot of the top clubs appear to be pretty decisive when they set sights on someone.

On the surface at least, for our club transfers always seems like pulling teeth for all parties yet when people on here point that out it they get jumped on for saying what seems to me to be common sense observations.

Or, there is a 100 page thread on KopCommunity about the various twists and turns of the Firmino transfer. We're so bombarded with information on Spurs transfers that we assume that we're the only club to have transfer dramas. That is 100% not the case.

We've been decisive already. We've chosen a target and he apparently had a deadline of next week to decide. We've also signed two new defenders.

What I'm commenting on is a classic case of knickers in a twist over nothing whatsoever. Mostly based on agent talk which in some cases may be spot on and on other occasions may be wide of the mark and out of date.

Basically chill out - and realise what world we're in and our place within that world.

Boooooom

Another one bites the dust

*Cue Freddie Mercury/Queen soundbite

The 'excuse' was……."Ya I got fooled, too excited" - Presumably the perp thought it being an 'official' tweet made a difference. Nope. So lets have a quick quiz for the benefit of any other members of the excitable/gullible/dim witted fraternity who have thus far managed to continue to roam society freely and without adult supervision……

Q: Does "No Twitter" mean…..

A: Do not post Twitter
B: Do not post Twitter
or
C: Do not post Twitter

I've kept the number of possible answers down to just three just to give you a chance. Anyone wanting a quick self test to see if they qualify just check for the following symptoms……..if your arms usually hang limply by your side, your eyebrows sink even lower than usual and the light in your eyes dims somewhat, you're in trouble.

Anyone who still gets it wrong should hand themselves in to the authorities as a matter of extreme urgency.

Not entirely true. We can only post twitter from 2 sources(maybe 3?). They are JJ and the OS. Gards might be on that list as well but im not sure. Anything else is a definite no.

Yes there are two exceptions, Gards and JJ. But we're not talking about that we're talking about the 'confusion' regarding the policy in general. The OS? hasn't it just been proved beyiond reasonable doubt why ANY other source is a no-no?

See what I mean?

I don't care what the source is. I'm not putting up with it any more. I'm out of order? Meh.

Hand yourself in.

Given a choice I'd rather we done our business successfully on the quiet rather than out in public bending over and waiting for Chelsea to throw money at our targets.

Did the Argentinian ITK link ever get resolved or are we waiting for them to finish the Copa America?

We can post transfer confirmations from the official twitter, yeah? Sorry, i referred to it as the OS as in the official sites twitter. My bad.

And im not questioning the rule. Im a fan of it. Most, if not all, of the shit you see on twitter is complete horseshit and it shouldnt clutter up this thread where actual information is posted and discussed.

I'll be honest and say I'm not overly bothered about Alderweireld. Good defender but I don't think he's going to sort out our problems at the back. I don't think I've ever seen just him and Verts as the centre back pairing for Belgium so I couldn't say whether they'd actually do that well together. Didn't watch them at Ajax either, so perhaps there was a top pairing there somewhere.
