And wants to start every game but won't unless we play 3 at the back. There have been rumblings he had a problem with this. Maybe like Walker, Poch is happy to show him the door.
96 starts in 2 seasons. 3 appearances off the bench. Looks like he's doing a pretty decent job of starting every week.

If this turns into a 'merits of Jansen' thread i'm going to get my old chap out and we'll play my version of spin the bottle.

And if anyone wants to discuss the merits of Dier, then get thee hence to the relevant thread in Spurs Chat.

Sorry. Got carried away.

Don't believe the itk suggesting we'd sell Dier for one moment. I'm sure it's posted in good faith but Dier is one of Pochettino's generals and embodies everything Pochettino loves, no way is any bid for Dier going to be entertained.

For the sort of money we'd want for Dier I'm surprised we'd want Rashford in exchange, yes he's young, quick and raw but his finishing is woeful... even Mourinho has criticised him for his finishing. Surely if we were serious we'd want Martial and not Wellbeck Mark 2. Selling Dier though would be madness, yes he's looked dodgy as one of two centre backs but as a 3 and as a DM he's been very good.

As for Janssen he's been linked with Fenerbache? this week for roughly what we paid for him. I'm torn on this one as he works his ass off for us but he's technically limited and is more of an old school poacher than a modern centre forward and not really what we need for the direction the club is heading.

i reckon most of you are misinterpreting the dier/rashford thing. i think its more like 'dier is not for sale, you can only have him if we get [random player you're not letting go under any circumstances]'

If the Jansenn ITK is true ( and judging by the fact Poch had zero trust in him even against lower league opposition it seems likely to me) it doesn't say much for our scouting and recruitment.

A pattern seems to be emerging of players being bought under Poch's management and being ditched very soon after.

Better than players not making the grade being hung on to for a few seasons before finally being sold. Transfers aren't an exact science, for every Alli there's a Janssen. I'm quite pleased he moves so decisively once he's made his mind up

Though If you disagree with someone saying I trust whoever poch wants to bring in, you get spammed

Can't say I agree with this. Yes there have been some poor choices but there are players like Toby, Wanyama, Dier, Son, Alli that have come in during his time and done pretty well. His building of a side can't be all that bad if he's got us 3rd and 2nd place finishes over the last 2 seasons.

What about Alderweireld, Dier, Alli, Wanyama and Son? Our signings have indeed been a bit hit and miss, but if you ask me, it's been worth it. Either way, though, the players we've been linked to so far look like they'll be in the hit category.
