One final thread of the window for you to pick the bones out of it all and i'm done with it all.

In a day or so, you'll log onto SC and find these forums have disappeared. No you haven't been banned they'll simply have been taken offline for repairs and will be back in January.

Thanks to everyone who donated yesterday, your contributions are very much appreciated. The bants was good and it was decent in here for a change.

Stay safe, be lucky and give my regards to your mums.

This transfer window is the classic example of : glass half empty / glass half full. You can choose to be excited about Spurs being a top-4 team and adding good players, or you can whinge about what Spurs could have done. Choice is all yours.

(from yesterday's ITK ticker summary)
"- Wide Forward - Herc says one wide forward is very close. We are looking at 3, with Gray being 3rd choice. He says you can be very sure at absolute minimum we will get 1 at this position, possibly even 2.
- AM/10 - Herc says we are hopeful on an AM/10"

Any idea what happened here? eg Names, reasons for falling through, reasons why ITK's were universally so positive, etc?

Also, Poch's reaction to not getting his Mane or Barkley equivalent? Info from earlier in the summer said he wouldn't be happy if he didn't get his guys, plus the recent comments about wanting 4 plus keeper, one for each area of the pitch.. with no AM or CM addition how is he feeling post deadline?

For the record I'm not complaining, personally just relieved we replaced Walker & didn't lose anyone else significant. In particular I think Aurier + Sanchez in for Wimmer + Walker is a great piece of business. Just trying to square off all the conflicting rumours with what ended up taking place.

Overall a decent window, all our signings were needed and came at a competitive price. Of course the lack of a midfielder/playmaker stops the window being perfect but you can't have everything, at least Barkley will still be possible in January. Maybe some of our youth players or reserves will see an opening and seize their opportunity.

Thank you to all the ITK for the juicy drops of excitement and mods for all your hard work trying to do the impossible task of keeping us in line. I'm sure we will be better next window ;)

Looking forward to Everton next weekend then bring on the champions league. COYS

Hate to say it, but are the people supplying the info to the ITK's actually dining at the top table any more? It seems there were a lot more misses than hits regarding information that was provided. @Archibald&Crooks this is not a dig at them, I know they pass on what they get in good faith.

I'm not sure what to think really. Can't help but feel a little disappointed at not adding some other attacking options and depth was always our issue and that's covered for defence, attack and attacking midfield. I still think we'd be missing something if Dembele was to get injured though as I've never been a fan of Dier and Dembele but at least there is still more depth there regardless.

I do think we can really tell what we need when Rose and Lamela are back though and how our starting 11 will looks as well as our options from the bench. I mean we could potentially have Son, Lamela, N'Koudou and Sissoko all as options outside of the starting 11. It would be a better way to gauge where we're at I think.

I do also think the players would have been given a bit of a boost with maybe more exciting or high profile signings that's for sure but hopefully results and performances will prove otherwise and will show that it's not needed.

I'm happy with our window, bringing in the CBs will allow us to play 3 at the back more often, meaning our pace will come from the wing backs, so Serge is a great addition there.

Llorente is a handy option to have off the bench or for rotation.

We kept all our good players bar Walker, our squad is definitely stronger than last seasons, especially when you factor in the younger kids knocking on the door.

Poch said 3 to 4. Considering we didn't have any 2 weeks ago, I'd say 5 signings including GK is a good haul. Include Barkley and a WF in January and there's no reason we can't compete at the highest levels in all competitions

I was disappointed that we didn't sign certain players but we've all been here before, when it gets late on, as it often does with lofty in charge, you know what's coming. Or you ought to.

I don't doubt for one minute we were after exactly who the ITK's suggested we were after, any frustration or irritation isn't down to them, it isn't down to lofty, it's down to yourself, because you obviously haven't learned anything from the past 478 transfer windows :D

What happened? You know what? I don't care. Maybe our dear leader fucked around, maybe he didn't.......mayber certain players 'played' us, maybe they didn't........I really couldn't care less.

At the end of the day we've had far worse windows and i'm not going to give the little bald headed runt any grief over it, he's got enough on his plate after rumours that Barbie left Action Man and is getting back with Ken.

So don't blame it on the bald ****
Don't blame it on the eyeteekay
Don't blame it on the deadlines
Blame it on the boogie

Yeah........Bald ****, eyeteekay, deadline, boogie.... c'mon everyone......ooooh.....clap your hands....Bald ****, eyeteekay, deadline, boogie*

*Does several hip thrusts and dances out of thread

Glad we finally got Llorente, albeit I wish it was earlier in his career. I remember getting extremely excited about him when we "almost" signed him the first time.

We're still short by at least 1 in a key area, which also just so happens our weakness. A slow attack with little ability to change it during games. But with that in mind, we've had these players in the last 3 years and poch didnt use them at all. So it doesnt matter anyway. Also needed a CM but hopefully we bring back Onomah in January.

On a sidenote, its funny how this window had been so dreadful and shambolic through the first game that some people are seemingly very pleased with the result. If you told them this result 3 months ago, it would have been a very different story

Lot to appreciate and value from the ITK's in the last few days, but it's the financial planning that interested me the most in the end. Hearing about how we put together a financing plan for transfers with the banks we are loaning from in the midst of the stadium build was interesting. Not that I would expect any less from our chairman, but it put a lot of the approaches we were making and the ambition of the club into perspective. Everyone has their take on how we executed and what we could have done differently, but it sounds like we prepared well going into the window.

At the end of the day, this is a well run club, and that's something that's really easy to take for granted.

You seem to be equating a questioning of why ITK's were universally wrong (specifically in regards to attacking recruitments) with disappointment. As per my post I don't think one necessitates the other.

Am just interested to see why things might have fallen through, what Poch's reaction to it all is, how the club feels about how it all went down, etc. If you don't care that's your business. I do, and I'm sure there are a fair amount on here that share my sentiments.

Well you're wrong, right at the start, so we'll leave it there :D

Perhaps not but it's certainly how it comes across.

As for finding out what went on behind closed doors, or how Poch feels about the window, I either suspect your in the minority by supposedly not caring or that secretly you do just as much as the rest of us.
